  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Would it be possible to drop a 2019 Standard Class Gen 5 8 inch HU in a 2015?

Okay, so title? Would that even be possible? I have the 8 inch screen so it's equivalent. I ask because the 2019 8 inch uses 4g, but the 2019 9.2 inch ironically uses 3g. Would this allow me to keep connected services on my 2015? Beside it being really expensive, if it works, it could be a viable solution.

Well, beyond it physically/electrically working/fitting. Hyundai would have to allow you to sign up for Bluelink, which they've now disabled for all MY2015 Genesis beyond the end of this month. So you'd have to convince Hyundai to allow it as well.

And yeah, I'm really PO'd to be losing my remote start capability at the end of this month...it's already been a cold December here in north Jersey.

As long as the modem works they probably would allow it. I have no idea how anything else would work though.

Have you looked at aftermarket remotes?

Called the dealer and they said the wiring was different and that it wouldn't work.

I imagine it would also require reprogramming? And then you would have to go through Hyundai Bluelink or Genesis Connected Services at that point?

Nope they just install as any other car. You get the starting but not the other features of BlueLink. There is a thread or two about them so take a look. Plan to pay from $300 to $600 depending on what you want. Some do have phone access, others a fob.

Mine allegedly has 3000 foot range. Has not failed yes but the Genesis app did frequently. Some because of spotty cell service.
