  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I know people that have a JB4 can benefit from higher octane. but on a stock engine, would you get better overall engine performance if you add some octane booster when you fill up? most pumped around me are 91 octane.

All pumps have 93 around here. A rare Sunoco has 94. Other than that...you can add additives.

Unless the engine is designed to use the higher octane you won't see any benefit. Doubt it would do any harm to try it.

The benefit also depends on your driving habits. You can add 500 HP but it won't do you any good if you are in heavy traffic creeping along at 25 mph. If you insist on being first away at every light, maybe it would help.

I heard octane booster will foul your spark plugs prematurely. Not 100% sure on that
