  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How soon do you think used 2015's will start popping up in early 2015? I've had great success finding same year used cars with 3000-7000 miles, and save thousands!!! My 2011 Genesis is my favorite car ever, I had a new Camaro in 2010, the genesis blows that car away in every area.

Anyway, anyone on this board have any knowledge for my wish scenario above? I live in north of Atlanta, and the dealership in my town said he should have the 15 in August. Is it a dumb idea? Should I just pay the new price?

I think it is a great idea. It might be the only way I could afford one depending on the price tag they came out with. The only concern I would have is why did someone trade it so soon; what was wrong with it; was it wrecked? All things you should be able to find out from an honest dealer. Keep us posted if you find that deal and how much you saved.

I on the other hand hope to pull the trigger when they arrive as I have been in the same car (2002 Honda Civic SI) for 12 years and am looking forward to being a Genesis owner after a test drive a couple of years ago.

I buy corporate cars. These are normally flat out loaded and they change them out every few months. Larger dealerships often have a pipeline for these.

It all depends on how bad you want it. :)

I got my 2012 late in 2012 as a pseudo-used dealer demo. I saved tons of $$. It was easy, because I was not waiting-- my need to buy a car was unplanned, and there was a perfect car waiting for me.

If I was chomping at the bit for a 2015, it would be killing me to wait until mid 2016 for a good used example.

I've done the same thing and saved big. Teddy9, from what I've heard, looking outside of Atlanta may be the best way to save. Rumor has it that area is not car buyer friendly.

Personally, I can't drink out of the same bottle as someone else. I am scared I will pick up some decease. Same with cars, it may be cheaper but you are rolling the dice with a large chunk of change to find out WHY the previous person got rid of it. I had this experience some time ago and I now live with the "once stung twice stupid" theory. Everyone and there dog drives the shit out of Demo cars, maybe I would consider a one person owned car but not a Demo, Rental return or Company car. They are not treated with care and there is no feeling of ownership and respect for the value of the car.

Just think this way, the money you save today you will lose when you sell.

P.S. Also you will rarely find someone writing about there bad experiences with buying used because they are to embarrassed to admit it.

According to AOL Autos in a 2010 article, these are the top ten best markets to buy a new car. Of course, your mileage may vary according to make and model.

Tampa/Orlando, FL 10.0% (average % off MSRP)
Baltimore/DC Area 9.9%
Atlanta, GA 9.4%
Newark, NJ 9.3%
Los Angeles, CA 9.1%
Dallas, TX 8.8%
Philadelphia, PA 8.8%
Miami, FL 8.4%
Boston, MA 8.2%
San Francisco, CA 8.1%

Picking up a decease could be fatal. ,-)

You could look for a "demo" car. And I mean demonstration.

My family bought a Suburban that was a demo car, had about 1,000 miles. The nice thing about those is they are usually not abused because the dealer rides with the prospective buyer, they are fully loaded too. Dealers use "demo" cars so they don't rack up mileage on all of their fleet. That way when people like me walk in there demanding a car with less than 5 miles they have it.

It's never a good idea to buy any new car. The buyer that insists on buying the car fresh off the hauler is the one that will take the hit in depreciation. All of the posters that have been lurking around the 2015 Genesis threads looking to trade in their barely used 2013-2014 Genesis is reason enough to buy a demo car or a CPO car.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Here is my story.

On November 15, 2012 I took my 2008 Azera Limited to the dealership for oil change. Three hours later I came home in 2011 Genesis 4.6.

The car was "demo/managers' special", with 6,000 miles on odometer. Car was never titled, so I became original owner with full original warranty (minus one year). The deal was complicated and I won't go into details, but final price (and my loan) was 28,000. I don't regret it at all.

PS
But I am not going to trade my 2011 for used 2015.

The operative word is "rumor". Why in the sam hill would a dealer in any area of the country who is in the business of selling cars not be "car buyer friendly".

You people will type anything........... of course if it's on the internet, it must be true !!!!!

"Never" a good reason ????? Man, what ever you're smoking is bad for your brain.
