  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am very thankful for this website. And the helpful people that interact here. I am ready to pull the trigger, I HAVE A GREAT OFFER, but some of the night mare problems some of you have shared I am concerned. My question is how many would do it again and how many wish they didn't get this car? MELLOW

Do it again in a heartbeat. I have experienced almost none of the issues that pop up here.

Be careful with judging a car solely by internet forum postings. It represents a small microcosm of the cars owned and tends to represent both ends of the spectrum - those who love cars and this car and those who do not and look for answers or confirmation of their issues. If you go to any car internet forum, you will see the edges of anonymous ownership - unbridled excitement to dark despair. Use multiple sources to judge the car - Consumer Reports, reviews and your local service department to truly gauge the cars character.

The BMW boards are filled with complaints and whining as an example - are they worse? Not necessarily so, but they do court an active and informed ownership which will tend to highlight the outer edges of reality. The Genesis is pulling from that same crowd. The Ford Fiesta boards may be quite, but does that mean they are bulletproof - likely not, they just don't pull in a car loving community like this car.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I would not. I love the styling, the V8 performance and all of the tech that comes with the 5.0 ultimate. But the stench from the HVAC, the smell in the trunk, the rattles from the sunroof/liner, the finish peeling off of the gear shift and the most annoying constant rattle from underneath the front end (the plastic cladding?) this car is really pissing me off. $56k and inept customer service doesn't help. I should have kept my 2011 4.6 and next time I think that I will be in an Audi or Cadillac.

5000 miles plus....zero issues so far
would do it again in a heart beat...

No problems at all with my Gen.

The worst horror stories that I've seen here relate to other "luxury" cars - esp. BMW's.

every car will have its respective problems. having owned primarily Japanese vehicles I cant attest even to those having bugs from time to time.

I would easily buy the Genesis again. Zero regrets here.

nature of forums will be you'll see more negative than positive. Not that ppl are trying to be negative but you'll more likely want to vent about something going wrong...or need help with an issue rather than posting when things are all good :)

I notice ALOT of negative stuff when I was trolling the forums when deciding on my purchase. Almost scared be off too. So far I've only had a few issues that were all taken care of (tire recall, water in tail lights) but it's probably too early to really tell for me.

Sucks for you pusaterkm, looks like you've got the worst of the batch I've seen so far.

I think so. No major problems. the roof rattle disappeared but may come back again in the winter......i have minimal vibration and would not have noticed it if it wasn't for this forum. overall i really like the car and the features.

Without any hesitation - I would do it again and again :)

I plan to purchase another next year to replace my wifes Sonata. 14k miles annd the only issue I have is a creak in thedriver side headliner somewhere.

In Sept. 2010 purchased a 2011 4.6V8 with tech pkg. over 165,000 miles on it now and would and will do it again. Its been a very very reliable car for me. Much better than the Acura that it replaced.

THANKS for the input. I have a 2012 gen with a loose leather issue. The car is a pleasure to drive with 20,000 mi. I really enjoy the car, but when I see a 15 I get wowed the 12 just doesn't wow. I can get a 3.8 ultimate for 25k and my car out the door. Empire gray & ivory int. I THINK IT IS A GOOD DEAL. I have to man up and make my own decision, I was just wandering how many would do it again and how many regretted it. THANKS AGAIN MELLOW DRIVES 2012 3.3 PREMIEM

I assume you know that the 2016 will be available shortly. No major changes, but hopefully they fixed some of the nagging complaints.

My second Genesis if the formula works stick with it.

I definitely would buy again!! I have had mine for almost 1 year and just brought it in for service for a few minor problems and recalls. I think the Genesis is one of the safest cars sold in America and is a pleasure to drive.

the 2nd genesis is a gotta have it car, it emotional draws you in because of its masculine size and design traits.

among all asian large sedans, this is the one to have. it reems the entire lexus line up and whats left of infiniti q70.

the v8 ultimate destroys the LS lexus and literally half the cost... with more hp to boost. who in their right mind would buy a lexus LS or equus at this point?

the v6 destroys the girly lexus es and gs in every aspect. hyundai just needs to revamp their brand marketing appeal. they have the deep pockets to do it yet they cant execute.

I would again except would probably go with the ultimate package over my tech to get the better screen.

No issues with mine, over 15,000 on it.

+1.

I am 90% sure that in about 5-6 years, I will probably get another but with the Ultimate pkg.
