Gotta question a survey that says Jaguar is a reliable car....
Gotta question a survey that says Jaguar is a reliable car....
That was precisely my first question - as a prior owner of a few British sports cars. The traditional thinking on Jaguars is that you always buy an American car to drive while the Jag is in the garage.
However, all that said, I sure like the looks of those 2016 F Types. If I could convince myself that it's a reliable car, it would sure look nice sitting in the driveway next to the Genny. On the other hand, my Sonata is ten years old and has never seen a dealer since I bought it - except for a couple of minor recalls right after I bought it. Which, of course, is one reason why I now have the Genny.
Decisions, decisions - ain't had a stick shift in a long time.
Various sites are backing up this data in longer studies- google it. A lot of people I talk to say they want a Toyota over a Hyundai because of quality, but fail to look into the data and see that Toyota- like several other brands that are synonymous with reliability (Honda, Cadillac, Jeep etc) have fallen on hard times in the past few years and now Hyundai and Kia are the value leaders in build quality, reliability and fewest problems.
Hyundai and Kia are damaged brand names because of the way they started out and the quality of their cars 10 years ago- but this makes them THE brands to purchase right now because you aren't paying for an expensive name brand or a past history of quality. You are paying for a great car right now today, not the great cars they used to have.
I see a lot of different cars at my work. There is a huge difference between a Kia or Hyundai from 10+ years ago (I would not own) to the modern line up of cars from these companies (I own a 13 Genesis coupe).
I used to sell Hyundais back in 2007, 2008, and 2010 and when people asked the different between Hyundai and Kia (back then) I would tell them that if they were considering buying a Kia, they might as well buy a motorcycle because if you hit something with either, the motorcycle is a lot more fun before you die.
I would never say that now, as I am considering a K900 as my next car....
