  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

has anyone got the wrap warranty?
i bought mine when i got the car ,10 years 100k on the whole car bumper to bumper

Through who? Hyundai?

p.s. Beware the fine print. Most extended warranties aren't truly "bumper to bumper".

I assume this was at a Hyundai Dealership? If so, then they should have sold you the HPP CPO Wrap Platinum Plan, which has quite a few variations all the way up to 10/120 with zero deductible. You'd be good to check your coverage, as the Hyundai plan is administered through SafeGuard, so you should see that listed in the paperwork.

I purchased mine at a less than reputable dealer (yes, Hyundai) and they pretended to sell me what I asked for and slipped me an amalgamation of third-party crap which I rapidly canceled after calling HMA Corporate and am awaiting refund. I did get the correct plan through my local dealer post-purchase, so I'm good.

I hope you have the right one. It has been preached on this forum to ONLY get the HPP plan. Not saying there aren't some third-party plans that can work out, but my own past experience with other high-line automobiles I've had always turned into a fight on larger repairs through independent warranties.

It has remote start as long as you pay for it.

Yep, my BlueLink trial just came to an end and I'm debating whether some f what they offer is worth paying for.

Look at aftermarket remotes. The break even is one or two years depending on what BlueLink package you would buy. I have a year to decide but may do that. I only use two features, remote start and send to car. For the few times I use it I can't justify $300.

Please be aware there are exceptions. If you look at EdP's posts from other threads, certain electronics are only covered under the first 3 years.

2015 Models: 3 years/36,000 miles covered.
2016 and forward: 5 year/60,000 miles.

Automatic Climate Control and Radar Cruise Control are not covered under any HPP service contract. Steering control module is located relatively low on the car's frame, resulting in possible damage if you hit something large. HPP will deny any claims, but your auto insurance will cover it minus any deductible.

HPP Service Contracts are the best you can get for your Genesis/Hyundai. They have 24/7 telephone assistance, trip interruption and can be transferred to the next owner. SafeGuard manages and administers the portfolio, but it is back by Hyundai USA. If you want further detail, I created a thread here in the Genesis forum.

I paid a very few dollars more and got the 10/120,000 wrap on my ‘19 Santa Fe. I pass my cars on to my Son and family, so they benefit greatly, as do I.

Some good info to know regarding the ACC/RCC. I'll add that one of the key reasons to add the Wrap, besides the great overall coverage, is that should the HU go out you're covered, and that alone would pay for the Warranty and then some.

Has anyone bought the HPP warranty after they purchased the vehicle (for a car still under original manf. warranty) and if so, how did that process work? Did you have to have to get it reinspected? Did you go with a local dealer or did you purchase from another Hyundai dealer outside of your area?

I think that the only things that I would truly miss would be remote starting and the ability to send destinations directly to the NAV system via the phone app... the rest of the garbage I can live without.

Yes, the selling dealer will definitely want to inspect the vehicle before selling you a warranty. I bought my extended warranty just before my ‘12 Genesis turned 3 years old.
You can buy the warranty most anywhere, but why not give your favorite dealer the business, along with a little bargaining first, of course. .

How do you buy the HPP wrap warranty if you do not buy the car from a dealer?

Hey Tar, just call around to Hyundai dealerships and inquire through the Service Dept. Those who choose to help will ask for your VIN, as that's what determines the quote.
