Wrinkles in Leather Seats

Does anyone else have wrinkles in their leather seats? The driver seat in my 16 Ultimate has wrinkling on the rear of the driver seat, and on the left side bolster. All other seats are fine. The car only has 3,500 miles on it. Thanks.

My G80 has wrinkle on driver seat. Most of the Genesis leather seats I have seen have wrinkles.

Leather is a natural material, and wrinkles are a part of the normal (and graceful) aging process. That being said, you could try a leather conditioner (not a leather cleaner) such as Lexol.

Correct. Lexol makes a leather cleaner for that purpose, and then apply the conditioner.

A non-wrinkled leather seat is not real leather. Congratulations, you have confirmed leather seats. Using cleaners and conditioners can minimize wear as stated, as well as not dragging sharp objects or other materials that will harm the leather.

The leather seats in the Genesis are an extremely soft material and much more pliable so wrinkles/creases are more prone than most cars. These seat coverings also stretch a little more as well and tend to leave a well where you sit the most which is the driver's seat. Think of your butt as a steam iron and you can understand why it shows wrinkles faster than most.

Also try not to land your butt right on the bolsters. When you come in to sit, angle your butt right in the middle of the seat, if possible. I do this all the time, and I'm very low to the ground. I've seen a Genesis with less that 30 miles on the clock with severely damaged leather in a showroom. I've witness an overweight lady get into it, and instantly see why the leather was damaged. On top of kicking just about every panel she came in contact with, combine that with flip flops so her toe fungus can rub all of the insides of a $50K car. Long story short.

Absolutely have to agree, we bought our 2016 Genesis ultimate right off the showroom floor and only after getting her home did we realize just how dirty it was,a solid 2 hours cleaning the seats,seat backs and kick panels.
You'd of thought the dealer would want to keep these show room cars in pristine condition,guess not.
We had even left the car there overnight giving them more than ample time to clean up a car we had paid close to 50 Large for......was quite discouraging

It is my understanding that most new car with leather seat have a special protective finish....this coating does not require conditioners only cleaning....the conditioners do not penetrate this type of coating

This looks normal. Remember, the leather used on the seats isn't just the seating surface, as other automakers do (leather/vinyl). But rather, full leather on all surfaces.

Said but true all leather seats will wrinkle drivers side always more then the rest, I USE whats called saddle soap it's a real leather conditioner paste that you rub in for a deep condition to maintain max softness and longevity. Find a tackle and feed store or look on line Walmart also carries it kiwi saddle soap is the best i think.

Thanks for the responses. I wasn't sure why the back of the driver seat was wrinkling after only 3,500 miles, but as long as it is normal I won't worry about it.

I have a suggestion to keep your leather seats nice and soft, i use saddle soap this is a a true leather conditioner and it's been around for ever.

I have similar wrinkles in the rear seats, particularly the bottom of the middle seat.

Although I have never done it, steam gets wrinkles out of leather really well. And my Genesis' seats are way more wrinkled than the above photos. :-(
