  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone had any experience with this feature? My question would be if anyone has had this info have they noticed any improvements made to it during their subscription? ie more coverage info for roads that was not previously provided?

I gave it a try and found the data to be very lacking in completeness at least in the Cincinnati Area. When compared to Google Maps who provide the info for FREE the data is much more complete. Of course XM offers no help or reason why their $3.99 a month subscription can not hold a candle to free service. My experience with XM is they do not stray from the script no matter what you ask them......

Thanks, I didn't realize that I could get traffic on Google maps. :D

I think XM traffic is decent. It's usually accurate. There have been no improvements over the past two years that I notice. If you don't like it now you won't like it later.

One thing about XM is that they do discount their rates heavily if you threaten to leave. That is especially true if you fulfill the original contract obligation.

Thanks for your input LA Genesis. I tired the the traffic data a year ago when I first got my Genny and it was incomplete with large gaps in the data and it is in the same state a year later. Despite the line from XM we are constantly improving our service and coverage. I beg to differ sad as I would gladly pay the fee if the data was there.

I tried the XM traffic a few months ago........ didn't do squat for me.

I currently have XM Traffic on my 2012 Rspec. Seems ok. I think the real limitation is actually the Genesis hardware/software and not XM. There is no reroute due to heavy traffic or accidents. Once the lines turn red from heavy traffic your already in the middle of it so you cant avoid it so thats pretty useless. But I like having all the bells and whistles even if I dont use them on a regular bases. Just like someone else said about unused buttons on the console. Id rather see no buttons over buttons that have no function, just a cap over the place the real button should be.. ok, Im rambling now.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I've tried this on both a Hyundai and a Kia vehicle here in the Philadelphia area, and each time I really needed it to get me around an accident or traffic jam, it failed me terribly. For whatever reason, I think that it is just too slow to transmit accurate and current data to be of any use.

While it's not integrated, I do go to Google Maps and seem to get much, much better results in terms of currency. I've even had it indicate a traffic jam to about 100 feet accuracy... right before the exit I was able to take to get around it.

I really WANT it to work, but I'm going to pass until significant evidence changes my mind. Just MHO.

Anyone find their subscription code goes blank and you have to call in to get it activated again? With a paid XM traffic subscription. I now have to call in a 4th time to send the code to wake up my DIS for XM traffic.
