  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

YES your Genesis can SELF DRIVE!!!

To a large extent post 196 is no longer accurate.

We now have developers again on board which have patched the software to perform as dfyffe stated.

Additionally, Consumer Reports just rated OP above Tesla and Cadillac's Super Cruise!!!

(Of course the devil is in the details. CR rated it high because of it's ease of use and driver monitoring not because it actually drives better than the other two....go google it!)

Maybe I should change the title of this thread to "Yes your Genesis can drive better than a Tesla" LOL

Owner of an 17 G80 AWD who is interested in installing comma ai. Do I need to buy hyundai H harness or hyundai J harness? I can only find harness for 16 and 18 models. 😅

I have been following this for a while as the idea is just wonderful and the new dev kit appears to be solid, its tempting to get on board, however, I do have couple questions regarding the business model (comma.ai services - Data Sales):
1 - How safe is the end user data?
2 - Is the system two way? ie, is there any risk of the endpoint being hijacked remotely?

Check on Discord and they will let you know... I would say but I'm not sure w/o looking and likely you will get a solid answer there.

1. Driving data only uploads when you connect to wifi. So theoretically you could load the software, change your wifi password on the device so it can't access your wifi (at the house) and nothing will ever upload (unless you hook up to wifi again to update your software).
2. It's 1 way. While driving the system does not need access to the internet. The phone that is used does not need to have a cell service contract or be on a hotspot somewhere. It can be completely offline while driving. (That is the way mine is set up).

The 2017 is oddly missing from Github. I also asked on Discord and haven't heard back. It's the first model year where the necessary components came standard and it could make for great platform without having to buy the higher end trims (and dealing with the ridiculous pano sunroof).

the 2017 car is identical to the 15-16 Hyundai models. The 18-20 models were different, they had a different shifter and a few other changes in the car.

If anyone has any details that you can share on the installation of the Comma 2 would be much appreciated.

I just bought a unit and waiting to try the install next week. Does anyone have any instructions on how to access the Front Camera Assembly behind the mirror?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Head over to Discord and the folks there will get you going.

It's gonna be great!

Just uploaded a vid of my Genesis being driven by OpenPilot. It's not a great video and I will upload some more but you should get the idea. This really works and works really well. On a drive from CA to UT I had to make no corrections!!

It makes for a beautiful experience. I had only planned to keep my 2015 for 3 years and then trade it for the most affordable self driving car that would be out. Now, I already have that no need to trade in!!!

The video....

Visit the following for more info....and no I am not making any $ off this I just want you to have the same great experience I am!!

comma.ai

Thank You for sharing, definitely going to purchase a 2024 G90
