  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Your New Inside Connection

Good - because Genesis Motors USA posted this as fact already :)
I guess they didn't tell our "Inside Connection" yet.

why so much interest in what u can't have. not like most of u are going to get it any ways. they are chopping 13k off the msrp for 2015 5.0 and u are waiting for the 2016 5.0 thats going for 52k msrp ?

bolognie

Where can i get 2015 5.0 with ultimate package with 13k off the MSRP? I can't find any on the East Cost

I think he's right. You can easily add 4-6 month to Hyundai release dates. They've never released anything on time.

It was announced to be "this summer" at the Detroit Auto Show. So I take that as by end of August. If they are delayed too long, it will be 2017, and typically a car released in 2017 would be a 2018 model year.

Sammy,
I made a deal on a 2015 Ultimate late summer last year for $696.35 due at lease signing and 35 payments of $549. I thought it was a great deal, but had to walk away from it for accounting reasons (wanted to expense the sale of my current business car in 2016 instead of 2015). Anyway, the best that the same dealer can put together on a 2016 Ultimate is $2500 down and 35 payments of $599 +tax). Last years deal was including tax. The dealer is saying the residual value estimate and leasing structure have "changed drastically". Did I miss the boat, or are better deals coming in the future?
Thanks,
Carl

carlrbrugger, I'm not a fortune-teller and I certainly don't have nay insight into pricing, but two things should be considered:

1. When the G80 is officially announced (at least one article indicated that it would be this summer), Hyundai will very quickly want to rid itself of Hyundai Genesis inventory (which works in your favor)
2. Thus far, no one has seen any MY 2016 V8 Genesis, and if #1 is true, then it calls into question whether there will even be any 2016 V8 Genesii (which definitely works against you).

I can tell you what I am looking at. I have been researching a 2015 5.0 ultimate lease, and am likely finalizing the paperwork on it today. Til 2/1 the MF is as low as .00009 depending on credit, there is a $3250 lease cash on it too.

I had stupid offers thrown at me of $720 a month, where I just turned around and laughed. The deal I am going in for this afternoon is 36mo, 12k mi, $525/mo with $0 up front.

the problem you are looking at is there are very few of these cars remaining. I was searching in FL, GA, and AL, and could only find 15 of the cars. you have to find the dealer that is wanting to move a vehicle, and that doesn't care about holding it specifically for someone specifically willing to pay more for an ultimate.

Genetec takes the short bus. There is no such thing. Unless you go to Manheim and buy a demo...

Are you referring to the 5.0 or 3.8? Yes the leasing structure has changed but the residual value percentages are nearly the same. Its the money factors that have drastically changed and the incentives are different as well.

I guess you don't understand comprehensive thinking.

I don't expect them to be out in 2017, contrary to what Hyundai says.

If you have unqualified sarcastic remarks, make sure you understand what I meant.
I know what you meant. But since Hyundai (at the Detroit North American Auto Show) specifically said this summer, that is a pretty bold claim.

I edited my last post to "not out until 2017", which is what I've meant all along.

Seeing as the 2016s came out at the end Q4 of 2015 and the 2016 5.0s aren't even in production yet, I don't expect to see them this calendar year is all i'm saying.

The only wild card is nixing the 2016 5.0 for an early release of the G80.

Which again, if I were a gambling man, don't expect to see a G80 until 2017.

I think your wrong with respect to the G80 timing based on what Hyundai execs said at the G90 launch in LA, what Genesis Motors USA has on their website as well as feedback (albeit indirect to me) from HMA. I'm thinking it's going to be "nixing the 2016 5.0 for an early release of the G80". Time will tell and plans may change.

BTW - 2016's did not come out at the "end Q4 in 2015" - they were physically on dealer lots in late October - like this one that I took a picture of on October 31st:

I should have been more clear in my original post. I am looking at a 3.8 AWD Ultimate. I have them at $700 at lease signing and either $624 x 35 or $599 x 47 (all taxes and fees included).

not like the 5.0 will be a hot seller in 2016 model.

Sammy, in your original post, you mentioned both G80 and G90 not being available in the USA until calendar year 2017:

It's still too early to tell. Seeing as the 2016 3.8 is already out, I dont see the G80 coming out in the same model year.

If I were a gambling man, I would bet on G80+G90 for 2017....
Now, you seem to be only talking about the G80, although I am not really sure what you mean.

I do realize that there are some questions about the 2016 V8, etc, but an official Hyundai representative did say at the North American Auto Show in Detroit last week that the new Genesis brand will be launched this summer in the USA. The EQG900 (G90 in USA) is already on sale in Korea.

My recollection is that the 2014 Genesis model year was also a very abbreviated production run, as it came very late in 2014 and the 2015 was introduced in the summer of 2015, and there were still a lot of 2013's that dealers had to move out, so not many 2014's were available.

In any case, even if you are right, is that based on "inside information" or just your experience with Hyundai not meeting the dates that they pre-announce?

These are same execs that said the G2 would come with Carplay :D

This isn't quite accurate. You can get $13k off MSRP on a 5.0. I got $11.6k off on a 3.8 Tech and the rebate was $1500 higher for 5.0's so that would mean $13k off right there.
