In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just bought a bunch of zaino products from wax to detailing spray to car shampoo, basically the works. Anyone use their products? I have seen several show cars with zaino on them and the finish is amazing. Since this car is brand new it is the perfect opportunty to start with the zaino system.

GS300rich: I've done a little web surfing trying to learn about the best products for wax/polish/paint sealant. Autopia.org is a good site to get a lot of user feedback on individual products. The more I read I realized that I am woefully ignorant in this area. However, based on my cursory search thus far I've decided I'm going to try Zaino also. It sounds like a bit more work than what I'm using now (Mother's products), but all the feedback is very positive in 2 key areas....the actual finish is awesome and it lasts for a LONG time. I raved about Mother's products on this forum before, but the one thing that I've been able to judge over time is that the slippery finish you get just after polishing disappears pretty quickly. The shine is still there and beading still occurs, but its just not slick to the touch. According to everything I've read, the Zaino products pretty much kicks ass in this regard...it lasts a long time. Also, apparently, it doesn't take a lot to get that effect...a little goes a long way. And everyone that uses the stuff is crazy abou the actual finish. I haven't bought yet, but I'm off this week so it will probably get done. Do share your opinion and pictures after you do it. Would love to see it. It is supposedly really excellent on darker cars, but they also have certain products more geared toward lighter cars also. Good luck and let us know.

Unfortunately our Genesis is platinum metallic also so the difference wont be quite as amazing but I have a feeling it will be much better than the NXT wax I use on my GS now. I have used multiple waxes on my GS and for the price the NXT is really good, but since the Genesis is brand new I wanted to try Zaino, which I will also use on my next new car in a few years. I used pinnacle products before and wasnt overly impressed with it. I also used Poorboys stuff, which did ok, but the poorboys swirl remover and wheel wax are the best. I tried menzerna and didnt like that at all. I will post pics after I receive the items and also some thoughts on it.

GS300rich,

I have used Zaino in the past for my prior vehicles. The platinum metallic will look like a mirror when you are done. Just warning you as I found out that when I was applying it to the car it took longer as I sat there and stared at the results from the prior area I was working. :D Hopefully you will see what I mean.

I use the Zaino product. I actually forgot I had some stored in a box. After a couple of years in the box, it still does an amazing job.

Has anybody posted any pictures after they applied Zaino to their Genesis? I'm planning on using Zanio products in the Spring on my car.

I've used it and LOVE it, but havn't pic'd it yet. I especially love the Z-10 Leather In A Bottle stuff. The car SMELLS like rich leather. I can't quite figure how to capture that for the forum. I bought the bucket combo kit deal and added the Z-8 Grand Finale. In Texas we've had enough pretty days that I can tell a difference and I love it. DO use the clay bar. I used it on the hood and it does make a difference.

Payoff- I did my wife's car also! POINTS guys:D:D

Zaino Z-10 Leather in a Bottle is just awesome. Probably the single best aftermarket product I have ever bought. The Zaino products are relatively easy to apply once you have done the basic clay bar thing.(That takes some effort.) The suprising thing to me is that 1 ounce will do the entire Genesis easily once you have the base coat done but it is still fairly pricey. It has been a cold(sub 30), rainy 2 months since I got the Genesis so I have not had much of a chance to keep up on the black finish. The Zaino products appear to hold up pretty well so far as my big "detailing" has been just washing the road grime off with a hose and toweling off before it freezes. I am afraid to bring a black finish to a car wash. Love the way the metallic sparkles in the sun-never had a metallic paint that showed up the way the Genesis/Zaino combo does. Also the Zaino products smell great! Have not really seen much difference in the Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss vs other products but they recommend multiple coats which I have not done yet. The Z-8 Grande Finale Spray is easy to use and seems to work well on black paint swirls but I have already used about half the bottle($ ouch). Need to compare it with other spray seals in the spring.

gipp,

Are you using Z-2 or Z-5 on your black? The Z-5 gives those amazing results on my red. It really deepens the color and brightens the metallic sparkle.

Thes best gloss enhancer is Z-8 but Z-6 is ok for everyday use. Also Mothers Showtime (from Walmart) is a good substitute for Z-6 spray. Overspray won't streak glass or chrome.

Thanks for the report on Z10 - I'll try that.

Elliot,
I started with one coat of Z-2 and then did 2 coats of Z-5. I'll play much more once the weather turns. I'll probably reclay the hood and go with Z-5 all the way. Instructions were a bit tricky in that regard. Thanks for the Heads up on the Showtime. I do have a bottle of Z-6 and should probably use that in winter and save Z-8 for theose bright summer days...You'll love the Z-10.

I've been using Zaino for the last 9 years on a black Lincoln LS and won't switch. It's extremely easy to put on and more importantly, take off - no buffing at all. But be careful - novice users tend to put too much on as it doesn't look like you are getting good coverage. Put it on sparingly and you'll get better results.

The Z14 tire cleaner is better than anything I've used - it lasts longer than spray-on. And the Z10 leather conditioner smells great.

for interior wood I usually use a quick detailed spray, if there are scratches use a wax sparingly. It wouldn't hurt to tape of the surrounding areas to avoid getting wax everywhere. Also Zaino is not available at walmart.

Correct - last I knew Zaino is still only mail order. They're out of NJ so it's not a long wait.

Oh, and Sal still takes calls from customers.

From looking at their website, it appears they ship from Kansas City or nearby. If you live in NJ (where their offices are located) you have to order using at a special email address they will provide. Not sure what that is about, probably something to so with intrastate commerce rules in NJ.

They've come a long way - at one point you could only order by check, no credit cards. They used to ship out of NJ. I won't use another product - particularly on a dark car.

There are two vendors in NJ that sell Zanio Products. One is local to me.

I figured that the wise guys have moved in on the NJ business and won't them ship to any NJ addresses for internet orders.

You can still mail-order Zaino to a NJ Addresses, you'll be charged shipping and NJ Sales Tax.
