zinging sound when closing the trunk

Does anyone else also experience a zinging electronic sound when closing the trunk of the car?In my case, the sound comes and goes, coming from somewhere to the front of the car.

Please help - should I take to the dealer?

This sound...hmmm.

If I remember correctly. If you have the doors locked and you pop the trunk to get something out and then close it again a friendly reminder BEEP/ZINGING tells you that the doors are locked.

I may be waaaaayyyy off here...

You might be right - you know there are so many features to this great car that I dont even know all of them Good to know it was designed that way - thanks!

PingGolf's probably right...you're probably hearing the noise only when you open the trunk while the car's locked (but the proximity key is in range to allow the trunk latch to work), and what you're hearing is the trunk relocking. The easiest way to be sure is to try opening the trunk when the car's both locked and unlocked.

I have at last found out what caused the zinging sound when I close my trunk...and why I it never wanted to lock....I figured out it ONLY happened when my wife was in the car...and then I realised she carried the spare keys in her handbag - thus causing the car to "think" the car keys are still in the car every time I lock the car with my key!!
