  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

At least we can finally sleep at night. As for me, I am pleased as punch that my '12 model's appearance will remain relevant until the '15 model year.

I have a '12 as well but I am not as worried about the styling falling out of fashion due to my last experience with my Avalon.

I bought a 2000 Avalon in late 2000 and the salesman was pushing the fact that it was the first year of a major restyle. Several years later they "updated" the Avi and it looked horrible - at least I thought so. Not all updates result in a more beautiful car. We had that car for 11 years and eventually gave it to my daughter and she is still driving it. Wonderful, reliable car and the styling still looks fresh. I will admit that the new 2013 Avi's have finally surpassed the 2000 styling but it was a long, long wait.

Other than the grill on my R-spec I like my Genny. I expect they'll do something with the grill in the next several years and if I can I might modify mine. Other than that though it is a great car and I expect to be happy with it for the next decade.

Personally I think the new 2015 Genesis looks more like a Bentley hood with more sporty lights (ie popular) and a generic grill, and a muscleback/hatchback look (ie Paneranma/A7/etc look)

Maybe they will provide a manual trans being they are going for a bigger target (I think they are aiming at the A7/Panranma/etc but cannot afford it crowd much better than aiming at the Lexus/Infinity/Acura crowd which is decently priced for the average person anyway)

According to the following articles posted in the last couple of days, it looks like the Detroit Auto Show in January is where we will see it.

the new Genesis sedan will have a richer-looking interior

Not sure if I agree with this line. So far spy photos show it's different but definitely not "richer-looking".

I'm guessing that if they introduce a diesel to the European market that it will be accompanied by a manual transmission. Don't forget the price of gas over there, plus the tradition of manual shifting dies hard there. Recently, the BBC America show Fifth Gear featured a right hand drive Chrysler 300 with a diesel engine. The show hosts panned the car, rating it very poorly.

The 2015 Genesis that looks like a cross between a Audi & Bentley, with a semi-hatchback/Sport back then add in a manual transmition and a 4 door? (Read GT sedan)

Dude they wont have enough Genesis' to sell the first year (with me being the first one at the dealership for a trade in)

When do you all think the model will actually be available in the market? Spring?

If it's anything like the '12... late summer. Later in the Northeast, from what I remember.

Awww. I was hoping it would be sooner.

I've got a lease that runs out next May---I bet I can pre-order a 2015 Genesis around that time next year, but I'm betting I might have to extend my lease into a month-to-month until the Genesis actually hits dealers...

I'm sure it'll be worth it if it comes to that. :o

They are probably targeting First Quarter 2014 as a 2015 model in North America. But like all new complex technical products that need to thoroughly tested to get all the bugs out, delivery dates can slip, so precise dates are only a guess.
