I have mentioned previously that about a month ago I bought my 2011 Equus Ultimate, new. It was actually technically new, never titled, however had 4000 miles on it.
Anyways, looks like the dealership played a little fast with the full history of the car, it appears it was actually used as a loaner car for a period of time, which I only found out after buying it and driving it across 3 states.
When I bought it, the sales person apologized that he could only find one key fob for the car, and would get another one, and sent it to me (I bought this car out of state). A few days later I told them to skip sending me the 2nd key fob and send me a check, which they did.
Well I 'think' I pulled a bit of a fast one on them. You see, even with my one and only key fob in my pocket, standing outside my car, I cannot push the black button on the handle and lock the car. It beeeeeps at me. Hmmmm, almost like I left my key in the car... at least that was my theory.
Then one day I was in a rush, drove to my child's school for an event, got out and realized I had driven all the way there, and my key was actually back at the office! OK, that told me that the mysterious 2nd key fob is LOST somewhere IN that car.
So you know what happened, they loaned it out, somebody lost the key fob, and its been in there ever since.
I have searched every INCH of that car, ever nook and cranny, felt as deep as I could into the front and back seat cushions... nothin.
HOW DO I FIND THIS KEY FOB! LOL, I need a radar tracking device or something.
Seriously, I think im just gonna send it to the dealer (local) and tell them that for some reason I can't lock it... let them figure out the mystery on their own.
Would the dealer, or the car itself, be able to give a hint as to where the key fob is? I know the car can detect if its in or out, so proximity is something it can do.
Anyways, would love to find it on my own, if anyone has any ideas, or good hiding spots they know to look, I would appreciate it.
Thanks!
