  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

While washing my newly-acquired 2012 3.8 last Sunday I noticed what appears to be paint-colored stickers on both sides between the passenger doors and the rear wheel wells. Are they on all Gennies or is this unique to mine? If on all, what are they for and/or what is under them?

Its actually clear and it is a protection from rock chips and other road. Many luxury cars have it. Without it the paint will get chipped in that area.

They are actually clear film placed there to protect the paint from chips.

Sorry, we were both answering at the same time.

Thanks for the answer. Good to know. I don't have much experience with luxury cars, having only owned one for 12 days. :) For the prior 15 years my ride was a 1998 Dodge Durango.

Don't want to burst any bubbles about luxury cars, but my '09 Ford Taurus has them too.

Don't believe what those others have said, since they are part of coordinated conspiracy. Those stickers are unique to your car, and no one else has those except you.

I think they're NSA tracking devices. They work like E-Passes except you don't have to go through toll lanes for them to be detected since their signals are detected by government drones and Mark is right only your car has them!

My momma always said that I was "special." Now I will feel safer knowing the Guv'ment is watching over me.

I figured the dealership stuck those stickers on to cover up something they didn't want me to know about like rust, or maybe bullet holes.
