Speaking of Bluetooth Problems

2012 R-spec. Two Samsung flip phones, each entered into the system and uniquely identified.

When I had my 2011 Santa Fe we only had one phone and when entering the car and starting it up we got "xxxxx connected" message on the nav screen. This does not happen with the R-spec.

In addition, the R-spec does not seem to identify either phone unless we make a call from the phone (and not through the nav). For instance, I can call out using the phone itself and Bluetooth will connect but if I try to use the nav screen to call out I get squat.

For a while, when the car was newer, it would connect automatically when my phone entered the car (mine was set as default) but now it doesn't do that either.

Wish I could help, but, unable too. I'm noticing my Android based Motorola Razr Maxx sometimes connects perfectly for 4 or 5 times, then the next two or three it will not connect unless I reboot my phone (haha), turn off the car and begin again. No idea what this is all about, but, I certainly empathize with you.

2010 Genesis 4.6 with 24,000 miles, no accident history. Without warning yesterday morning [mild weather, garaged] I noticed my keyless starter would not work to open the trunk nor start the car unless inserted into ignition--nothing was left on, car had been driven prior night. Bluetooth also disabled and refused connection on my IPhone when I tried to reboot--but the connection to the Blackberry worked fine. Rest of the day keyless fob worked fine when returning home. This morning same drill--keyless not work on initial start--but worked on later starts. Last night I also noticed my headlights briefly flickered off, only an instant. Is this an old British Jaguar?
Hoping not, but seems not a fob or phone issue. Any ideas?

These "issues" are Hyundais way via BlueLink of making you feel that you have an old"" vehicle.
Thereafter you go rushing to your local dealership to order a 2014 model..

Thanks for the reply--LOL on reminder to visit the dealer. Thought had passed my mind. I really do like the car, but little glitches turn into big ones and the inability to use bluetooth major inconvenience on the road; my other car [Toyota] has not had any issues at all, and she gets to stay in the driveway. Comparing the quality of a Toyota to a Hyundai is like comparing road kill to fresh cut meat right from the farm! NO comparison.

I like my Genny, but, hate all the little aggravating things that go wrong. I've had mine in the shop 6 times since July and need to make another trip this week. None of the trips have been for routine maintenance, always a repair... stinks, right?

bluelink question

I have a 2013 Genesis with tech. I know you can start the vehicle via phone. I know the car will turn off in 10 minutes. Silly question is there a way to turn off before the 10 minutes via phone?????

I have a 2012 R-Spec as well, and have never had a Bluetooth problem of any sort with iPhones. Just paired two new iPhone 5s phones without any problems. When I read about all these B/T problems, it's like you're all talking about some strange French or British car out of then 70s. Sorry, WowCool!
