  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So about 2 months ago I recently purchased a certified 2013 Genesis. I happy with the car no buyer remorse at all. But my car gas 23000 miles and tires (Dunlop) are noisy as hell. Been rotated, balanced, etc... can't deal with it. So now I'm gonna go ahead and purchase some tires for her. I'm been leaning towards the Kuhmo Ecstatic LX platinum or the Continental Esopus touring. My question is what is a really good quiet tire for our cars? Any help is appreciated .......

I would highly recommend the Michelin Primacy MXV4's. They are not mentioned much on this forum, since they don't come in the Genesis 18" size, but they do come in a size to fit the Genesis 17" wheel. They are not cheap, but worth the price IMO. Don't confuse it with the Michelin Primacy MXM4's, which is a different tire.

These are truly excellent tires. However, they don't come cheap as they are a premium tire compared to the Kumho's that you are considering. They can easily be a 75% premium over the Kumho's, but that's what quality can buy you.

Another alternative that I've been very pleased with is the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus at about a 50% premium over the Kumhos. I purchased these for another car in our family and it definitely stands up to the favorable reviews on Tirerack.com. Personally, I purchased them for their favorable snow/ice traction that you may not experience in TX,.

The premium price pays off in different ways. If you really want a quiet ride, these tires perform. They also will last much longer because of the design and tread compounds. Note that the UTQG rating is a good indicator, but not always accurate.

Tirerack.com reviews are a great resource. Check them out if you haven't already. Good luck!!!

I bought my '09 4.6 in December and it came with 17" aftermarket wheels from the previous owner. Standard 17" tire size for the Genesis is 225/55R17, but feel free to go with a 235/55R17. 1010tires calculator says it's only a .18% difference in size from the stock 18" rim\tire combo.

I thought about a 235 55R 17 tires. I had wondered about the ride quality changing for better....
