  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is there any trick to this or does the heat-and-peel method work? I have no issue with the dealer, but it kinda ruins the look in my book ...

Every dealer that I talked to during my car shopping said they could remove their dealer sticker, assuming it was done reasonably soon after purchase.

Some people use a hair dryer and a little bit of Goo Gone or Goo Off (may diluted) with some dental floss to get between the sticker and the paint. However, be careful about any chemical you use because it could ruin the finsish. And don't ever use the professional strength version of Goo Gone.

I always make taking the sticker off (or not putting it on) as part of the deal.

I took delivery on Tuesday and asked they refrain from adding it when it arrived. They had no problem with that. The others on the lot had them and it looks similar to the emblem... just heat and remove. :)

You don't need to heat it up. Just push on it lightly with your thumb and once you get enough up just rip it off. Then any residual glue just use some wax and polish itnoff. I used meguiars and the whole process was done in 5 min. There was another thread about this not long ago

Always part of the deal. No advertising on my car! Some of those decals/plate holders are just hideous. If someone asks, I will be more than happy to say where the car was purchased. Hyundai dealers should include a brass plate holder, such as Lexus does. At least for the rear plate.

easily removable.

Unless they pay you to advertise for them...remove it! :)

That's one of those "shamelss plugs" that is so annoying.

Is there anyone who actually buys a car at a particular dealer because they saw the dealer name on someone else's car?
