  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What is your biggest complaint about the Hyundai Genesis?

I've been pleasantly surprised by the nag system but I had low expectations. Being able to use voice to enter the street address and city in one command makes the system usable. Blue Link for finding places is somewhat useful. I wish I had Siri Eyes Free or, even better, CarPlay. Siri does a better job of understanding addresses and locations (Find XYZ in ABC). Google maps and Apple Maps seem much more accurate. My house address is off by a block on the Genesis.

Apparently there was a sizable change from 2012 to 2013 that I have benefitted from.

My biggest disappointment has been the ride over rough roads. The interior I also find a step down from where it should be. A new Cadenza looks better. Seats are ok but not great.

I was looking forward to using a "built in" GPS system. Being used to Garmin, I too was very disappointed with the NAV system. Back to Garmin I'm afraid.

In the 2014 Genesis, that thepassenger seat (even with premium pkg) only has 4 ways. Two with the seat, one going forward and 1 going back: and then the seat back 1 moves up and 1 goes back, this equals 4 movements. Greatly surprised no up and down with the seat.

Without a doubt the OEM Dunlop tires....they were (are) POS!

My only complaints is the Azera has back seat window shades and the higher end Genesis does not. Plus no cooled seats for passenger.

My car has been mine for a week tonight :D Must say I am very happy with the Genesis. I came from a 370Z and it might just be me, but to slow this puppy down takes a lot of pedal force. I read on this forum to not brake hard during the break-in period, so that could be me trying to be easy on the brakes as well. She is quite hefty and I now have over 600 miles and pretty much kept it between 2 and 4k on the rpm as much as possible during this period. No issues except for a rattle in the vanity light on the passenger side, which my wife located the source last night. Will look into it today, other than that the car feels very solid and tight

Get the brakes checked or test drive another to compare. Some cars are more touchy than others, but better safe than sorry.

Good suggestion Gunkk, will do. Does anyone else have this complaint?

Odd, my Premium Genesis has a rear window shade. I'm guessing that's what you are referring to.

Lack of LED daytime running lights even on the tech package models, the LED accents should have been more powerful and been used as DRLs.

The dash never looked quite premium to me and should have an analog clock instead of the archaic looking digital one. Bluetooth audio takes forever to connect to. I with the nav screen was touchscreen as I hate the wheel interfaces. Also 1 second lag for acceleration when you hit the gas pedal is annoying. The front passenger seat should be more than just 4 way adjustable which is inexcusable for a luxury vehicle. Cooled passenger seat in tech package would be nice.

Despite these flaws, I still think the car is more than worth the 29k I got a new 3.8 tech package for. I was originally planning on a honda accord v6 for a similar price.

I like the wheei interface, you don't have to reach the screen plus no finger prints. I'm getting the hang on how this system works and I think it's pretty cool. It's not a perfect car, but what is especially under list of 50k?

Hi Ron

The Azera also has manual side shades for the rear door windows which the Genesis never got.

2015 Genesis has manual rear side window shades.

Love my Gen 5.0, except one thing.

Last winter lots of snow and my Genesis could not move on snow at all.
I think rear wheel drive makes the problem worse.
Really needs 4 wheel drive... it is a must.

Our other 2 wheel drive automobile were much better on snow.

Will snow tire help?
I hope Hyundai makes 4 wheel drive for 4.6 or 5.0

My biggest complaint: cost me $30,000 to get a psgr power seat that goes up!!!! who in the hell designed the 2010-2014 Genesis without one? Traded in my 2012! the 2015 is a GREAT car!!

I think it would have the opposite effect on my wife. And me.

My wife is pretty short and couldn't care less about lack of passenger seat height adjustment.

Mine is 5'0". She noticed it didn't go up the first time she was in it (funny that she missed that on the test drive). Couldn't care less now and loves the car.

Yes, Blizzak's are your friend. That and 2 bags of sand in the trunk. You will not believe the difference.

Agreed. Snow tires make a huge difference on any car. Even AWD.

As far as my biggest gripe with Hyundai is that some dealer service depts look more like a dirty independent quick lube shop rather than a clean luxury brand service area.

Sometimes you get what you paid for I suppose. At least the car is great.
