  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

We normally keep our Genesis in our garage. The garage is under construction at the moment so we are parking it outside. We have noticed that, after several hours in the hot sun, the cab remains relatively cool. Well, maybe not COOL, but it does stay reasonably cool and not boiling hot as has been the case with all of our other cars. Even the steering wheel remains cool enough to touch right away.

The car is painted Hyundai's metallic black so the inside should get even hotter than normal. Has anyone else noticed this? We are wondering why this is so.

You mean not as hot as your other black cars? Did you test the temp of the exterior paint using a thermometer (make sure it goes up to at least 150 F or you may break it).

Also, the exterior paint does not have a big impact on the temps inside the car. The Genesis may have better (not just darker) factory tinting than your other cars, or maybe your windows are tinted and you don't know it? Do you have Genesis sunshades on the windows?
