  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

hey guys, I'm building a drift car 2011 Genesis Coupe 3.8 was an automatic switched to a manual 6 speed. Here recently I just got it running and today I went to start it to pull up on my trailer to do more work on it and it would not start. It has a smart key/ push button start. Is there anyway to bypass the smart key/ push button start system?

*like I said it is a drift car project, so it has no interior, no AC, no radio, no power windows anymore, just the dashboard, instrument cluster, shifter, ebrake and seat.

*I'm ok with setting up some panels switches, I just need to know what I can cut and discard, and what I need to wire for bypass.

any help would be greatly appreciated

forgot to mention, usually the start button has a blue bar when it starts, today it was orange...

check the battery in the fob. Do you still have the slot in the dash for the fob? If so try putting the fob in the slot.

Battery in fob has been dead for a while and i always put the fob in the slot. This is wiring related. I work with the guy who did all the work for the previous owner, he did some "interesting" wiring while performing the 6MT swap. Basically did what 240SX guys do when swapping from Auto>Manual, bypassing neutral position sensor/neutral safety switch.
