Does anyone reccomend a great long lasting sealant?
Are you talking about a paint sealant?Does anyone reccomend a great long lasting sealant?
WHAT IS OPTI-COAT?
According to the manufacturer, Optimum Polymer Technologies, Opti-Coat is a hard wearing, aftermarket, ceramic clear coat for superior resistance to scratching (9H) and chemical etching from environmental impacts. It provides permanent protection for all factory paints, and can also be applied to exterior glass, metal and hard plastic surfaces.
Opti-Coat is not a wax or sealant like other products on the market. It is a ceramic clear coating very similar to factory type clear coats. One layer of Opti-Coat measures approx. 2 microns in thickness which is roughly 100 times thicker than your typical wax or sealant. Unlike paint protection sealants such as Glass Coatings, PTFE, Nano Sealants, GlassPlexin that degrade over time and are easily removed through washing with water or chemicals, Opti-Coat does not degrade and cannot be removed by chemicals such as heavy duty truck wash or even caustic degreasers. It is resistant to these chemicals and produces a permanent film that chemically bonds with the factory paint layers. Opti-Coat is effectively the vehicles new outer clear coat. It is far more resistant to chemical etching than factory clear coats and far more resistant than competing paint protection sealants.
HOW LONG DOES OPTI-COAT PRO LAST?
Unlike conventional waxes and sealants, Opti-Coat Pro is considered a permanent coating. It will not degrade over time and will withstand the test of time. That being said, when applied to brand new vehicles Opti-Coat Pro will last the life of the vehicle and will come with a lifetime warranty against failure.
I didn't say they are exactly the same, but the ones from Meguire's are just as good as the others. Meguire's has an R&D budget about 100 time larger than the other companies you mentioned.Um no. Synthetic polymers (Zaino, BlackFire, NXT) are absolutely not the same
I guess it is not all that popular. Does that tell you something?I cant seem to find opti-coat in canada and their website is awful
Nu Finish and Mequires Cleaner Wax (and a few others) are very good, but I would not use them too often since they have a slight polish effect. A very mild polish is good for once a year waxing, but not much more than that. Not sure I would use it on a brand new car.Consumers Reports found the Nu Finish Polish held up the best of all the ones they tested.
