If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone noticed the lexicon system is good but tends to rattle alot as if hyundai did not insulate the speakers and subs well? I notice it from the sub alot which has been replaced twice! I usually notice it on sirius xm because that is all I listen to. Any thoughts?

I had this issue when I had the car, it was the most annoying issue I had, especially since I love listening to music. It rattled on the doors on some songs along with the back window area. The only thing I could say to try is add more sound deadening in the areas.

So os it the speakers or the way hyundai installed them? Shouldn't the dealer be able to fix this?

Hmm, I have no rattles in my 2013 R-Spec from the Lexicon sound system. And I play it pretty loud when the wife's not in the car.

Is this with Bluetooth streaming or through the iPod cable? I noticed Bluetooth does help with some of the rattling problems as it doesn't have as much bass quality compared to the cable. With iPod cable it goes crazy with the rattles on certain bass frequencies as the bass is more stronger. However, I had the 14 speaker not the 17 so it may be different.

My car is a 2011 and doesn't for some reason have bluetooth streaming. If I play music via a usb stick it is fine as their is not alot of bass via usb but on sirius it is awful. Same with cd's. It's like hyundai didn't install the great lexicon system well.

I've got the 17 speaker Lexicon in my R-Spec.

What's an ipod cable? Most of my music is on a 64 GB USB stick. I also frequently use Sirius/XM radio and occasionally a DVD-Audio Disk. I've tried bluetooth streaming a few times, but the audio quality is not very good. The DVD-Audio disc produces the best quality playback, but I've only got a few discs.

However, whatever source I use to play my music, it does not rattle anything in the car.

I've got a 2012 with the 17 speaker Lexicon. On mine, the amount of bass and treble can be set independently for each source, so if your Aux input has much more bass than XM, for example, you may want to double-check your bass and treble settings for each.

Regardless of the amount of bass it should not creak and rattle

I'm glad someone posted this tread. My ipod cable makes my passenger side door speaker rattle. I thought it was blown. Now I know it's not! Overall like the car and stereo system. Luxury to me. But the quality in certain aspects is short or missing. Coming from a Bmw I'm still happy!

I have 2011 hyudai genesis 3.8l tech. I think it has 17 speakers but I don't have bluetooth streaming. I don't use an aux cable either as I have an iphone 5 and they don't make a hyundai adapter for my phone. I only use mp3 discs or sirius xm.

I couldn't agree more, however I think the 2nd gen would be much better in this type of situation as they've upgraded a lot of the materials used. And now it seems more solid than previously. The only thing I could recommend is what I mentioned previously. I do know the feeling you had, this has been a battle for me when I owned the car and it was quite embarrassing having friends in the car and that issue occurs from a car costing over 40k. It made me even not listen to certain songs due to the rattles ruining it.

I hope you are able to get your problem fixed! Try taking it to a sound shop and see what they would recommend.

On my 2011 3.8 tech. The rear deck rattles like crazy.... I'm going to try an put a layer of foam underneath the rear deck to see if it helps.....I'll post pics this weekend if it's not raining out...

One of the things I liked about Acura was their 4/50 warranty covered any squeaks or rattles for the entire warranty. I had a very annoying squeak from the rear deck that would only happen when it was cold out (below 40 degrees). They fixed it the winter of the 2nd year of ownership, summer came, and the following winter, it happened again. They fixed it again, was fine for 2 weeks, and happened again. The 3rd time they did a bang up job and it was solid.

Moral of the story: Rear deck squeaks/rattles can be a pain to fix. I hoping mine doesn't exhibit a problem in that area because I'll be on my own after the first year. Or maybe I'll move to Florida. :)

Figured out what the rattle that I have been experiencing for a year and that everyone has been talking about on the rear deck. I took the rear deck apart last weekend and found out it was the rear shade motor that was resonating in response to the subwoofer. This is because the motor is somewhat undamped and allowed to vibrate. As soon as I put some damping material under that motor the rattle went away 100% and I can use the rear shade whenever I want! :)

Congrats! If it works for that, I'm sure it will fix the door panel issue as well.

Anyone have any advice as to how to pull off the rear trunk lining so i can figure out how to put some sound deading materials in there to stop the rattle?

I figure out how to fix the rear sunshade rattle. Applied to small square pieces of foam on either side of the sunshade with 3m tape. It still allows the sunshade to go up and down no problem and takes the rattle away. I also took off the inner trunk liner and noticed the sub is porter and blows are but the air coming out of it has no where to go so i drilled a penny sized hole in the trunk liner right where the sub air comes out. This provided more bass abd no rattle. No i just need to work on the doors but they seem less rattly now.

Yea, I'm probably going to take my 15 Ultimate in because some song I can feel the rattle, even at volume set to 20. Mine is coming more from the front.

My new '13 RSpec rattles depending upon the song. I usually keep the bass at +7 but some songs on the SSD drive, I have to turn the bass waaaaaaaaaay down.

The real test is the following song:
Hot Spot Splash (feat. Paul St Hilaire)
Beat Pharamacy
Constant Pressure.

Electronic Jamaican style.lol

Can find it on Spotify, Itunes etc.

Great album by the way, if that is what you are into.

Heavy heavy bass. Should rock your sox off. If your car does not rattle with this song at volume 20+, please divulge your secret

Thanx in advance
