• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Handled like a gentleman and well played.

No ruffles at all. I have been and am a moderator on a number of car enthusiast forums, and your initial post and lack of short-term follow-up had the familiar traces I have seen in other places of a troll or spam type post. I was more amused by the responses to that original post than to the post itself.

I humbly request your forgiveness for my bad guess and assault on your character. :welcome:

No apology necessary, No offense taken. If I had the responsibility of being a moderator I would do everything within my power to maintain the integrity of this forum. One thing learned is that there is no shortage of outstanding members on this forum.

Thanks to all for the welcome …..

I had to clarify that I am not a moderator here. Just a regular dude who couldn't help himself.

Welcome aboard CharlieS... The more the merrier. Hope you locate the car you want. I too want to get back my youth with a V8. I am going for the 5.0 Ultimate RWD (live in Florida, no need for AWD). My only hard decision now is the color. My initial thoughts are the Montecito Blue but then seen the Parisian Gray last week and like it as well. Then Chuck (ckon another forum member) posted pics of his Black Genesis and looks awesome too. So many decisions.

My other issue is availability of the Montecito Blue or Parisian Gray in the 5.0 Ultimate package. They are hard to locate so the black one might just have to do. So many choices. Someone on here mentioned that when they see the cars, every color looks good to them because the overall car is awesome in every color.

Base S6 will cost you at least $10K more than the Infiniti, also the Infinit tends to have steep discounts. I bought my 11 M37S 3 months after it was released and they were discounting them $4K off MSRP then, I hear it is higher now.

Before any discounts the price difference between a "base" S6 and a loaded Q70 5.6 is only $2k and imo they're similarly equipped. Granted the Infiniti's do definitely tend to have more wiggle room. Not sure if they'll try to hold the line more on the Q70 refresh from the M or not.

But on the Audi point the 3.0"T" is nothing to sneeze at either and is much faster than it's hp number would suggest.

I just want to take a moment and possibility explain and clarify a few things. First of all I work for no one, always self employed till I retired a few years ago. No vested interest in any car company, but very interested in cars. I have been visiting the Hyundai Genesis Forums since information about the new 2015 Genesis started appearing in the forum. I finally thought I had something to offer so I decided to join the forum this week.

I posted the information about the 2015 Infinity Q70 because I would this time like to buy a 8 cyl car, with AWD, trying to relive my youth in a small way. Other post also speak of wanting a AWD 5.0 Genesis and even anticipating the arrival of a Rspec second gen Genesis.

Canada has one up on us this time with Hyundai. See Post ---> http://genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=14098

My research has proven to me that dollar for dollar the 2015 Genesis can not be matched and my color choice is Montecito Blue with grey interior. I again called my local Hyundai dealer today and he assured me that in the U.S.A. The 5.0 AWD in not yet available and he would check with his Rep to see if special orders are possible. If the Infinity is overpriced for my cookie jar or not as it appears then I may take the wait and see route or as my better half suggest .. Do You Need The 8 Cylinders you old geezer…

Sorry if I ruffled the Captains or others feathers. I would like to remain welcome on this forum.

Gosh, really... No need for apologies :) It's a free country with a freedom of expression last time I checked. If someone doesn't like what you have to say... they can... oh well.

That ... what you said ...! :welcome:

Will just pimp my comment in other posts ... make sure to give due consideration to INside as when you're sittin' in it, that's what you see. NO bad choices for this car indeed - though not hot on the gray interior - but I got Caspian Black/Black and both ROCK! The black inside is just amazing on the dash.

I agree with you about the gray; not sold on it, but I'm more of a beige/ivory interior guy rather than a "stiff upper-lip New Englander", which is what I think of when I see the darker interiors. In fact, on the two cars that I had been mulling over recently (but decided to wait on), both had beige interior (one was Cassablanca White , the other Caspian black, which unsurprisingly, have been the colors of my previous two Genesis models :-).

In any case, I guess the cup holders ended up being an acceptable compromise for you? It sounded like it was potentially a deal-killer.
