  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Purchase Details so we all can prosper!

Bought my 2013 3.8L with Tech last week.
64 miles (that's right, 64, essentially brand new)
Bought as certified pre-owned, originally a corporate owner 9 mos ago but vehicle was never used.

Have remainder of all factory warranties, and topped up with hyundai CPO wrap 10/100 everything for $1200 so Nav and electronics get long term coverage.

Bought in Minneapolis and drove back to Ohio (700 miles).
$29,500 (original $44k sticker price)

Loving it.

That’s a fine deal. Not all electronics are covered for 10 years check contract carefully and check various posts on this forum pertaining to coverage. Enjoy the new ride.

Thanks Ernie, Yes I did my research on this forum so I know the adaptive cruise and parking assistance sensors (anything else you are aware of?) are not covered which is unfortunate. That said, decided to go with it because I plan to keep it for 10 years (I did so with my 2004 Acura TL which just kept going). With all the fancy electronics and a bit lower Hyundai reliability ratings versus Acura and Lexus, thought it was probably worth buying.

Purchased a 2012 3.8 premium hyundai genesis with 50k miles on the odo for $20,500.00. Traded in my 2003 bmw 745li. Love the car. No issues what so ever and overall great car. :) Did I get a good deal?

Just bought a 2013 pearl white (hard to find here) base w/ 16000 miles, absolutely mint, for $24500 in PHX, (got $13000 for an 09 Camry xle), I put on a spoiler, & side mouldings, and front bumper plugs (for license plate).... it's a real head turner!

2012 Black/black Genesis sedan 5.0 R-Spec, 19.5k miles, $30.5k sticker, bought in Escondido (just north of San Diego).

Last month, I bought (and returned) a 2012 Silver/black Genesis sedan 5.0, 20.5k miles, $29.5k sticker. It was advertised as a 5.0 R-Spec but was actually just a 5.0. Los Angeles area.

did you get full money back and are you going to find an r spec?

I have agreed in principle to purchase an '09 3.8 with the technology package (cooled driver seat, Lexicon stereo, navigation, rear sunshade, etc) with about 73,000 mi. for $15,000

I have already scheduled an inspection at my local hyundai dealership before I hand a check to the seller.

Does this price seem reasonable if the vehicle is in clean condition??

Any feedback appreciated before I get it inspected in a few days.

Thanks in advance.

A quick appraisal on Edmunds.com shows this car retailing for about $17k, give or take. If it's clean, $15K sounds pretty good

15k is a fair price....I bought an 09 3.8 with tech and premium and 64k miles back in Nov and paid $14.4 for it (southern Cal). I added an aftermarket Mercury Platinum insurance ($505) which "supposedly" takes it for three years or to 100k miles. Car has been perfect so far no one hiccup. Replaced the battery last week for peace of mind, it was the original Rocket 6 year old battery. Love the car!

2012 R Spec with 27K miles for $29000 CDN + Tax.

Cheaper than a poorly equipped '11 MB C300:D

They have something they call a head unit -- see prior posts. Members saying around $5k replacement . Also other items--- you need extended coverage for these items, especially if you are keeping the car for a while. Did you do history search. Many lemons are recycled --- if it seems too good to be true maybe it,is --- unless you know the prior owner-- friend or something like that--Hyunda and other brands recycle thousands of cars a year.

Hey guys just wanted to place the final details. I got a CPO 2011 4.6 white with 19,700 miles for $22,700 + TTT. Clean carfax no chips or anything that i've seen. Car runs and looks great. The price seemed to be about $1k below private party value so I feel I got a good deal. Looked long and hard but I'm very happy with the car.

That's a great deal! Congrats!

Just joined the Genesis family and traded in my '04 BMW 530i. Bought a 2011 3.8 fully loaded with 39,000 for $17.888 plus full extended warranty of $2,600 to cover up to 139,000 miles. Traded in my car for $4,000 (had mechanical problems) and walked out the door after including TTL, fees, and warranty for less than they were listing the car for. I'd say I got a steal because it is waayyy below blue book value. Loving every minute of driving it.

Congrats, and welcome to the family! :welcome:
