  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well, last night when I got home I shut off the engine, and the "Passenger window open" light flashed. So I powered back up and rolled window down and then up and shut off. Same warning light saying it was open... called dealer today, bringing it in Tuesday to look at.. other than that, I love the car. (2015 5.0 Ultimate)

To bad about the issue however I am sure it will be a quick fix. Cool feature though, did not know it was there.

Sucks, but yeah... probably a quick fix. I'm constantly getting the driver door ajar warning -- but it's because I'm not slamming it hard enough. Damnit, close the door all the way David!

I'm having the same issue with the door. Car is going in for service Monday and I'm going to have them check the latch.

I'm surprised the windows don't index.

I think I learnt how to close it - don't slam, don't just push it and let it travel the "last mile" on its own. Keep your hand on the handle (either from outside or inside - works both ways) till the impact - it makes a real night thump and closes pretty consistently - it didn't close maybe once on me in the last 3-4 days.

"Passenger Window Open" or "Passenger Door Open"?

I'll be very interested in hearing your experience with that.

Believe it or not, that's how I was closing the doors initially. I had gotten used to doing so on my last several vehicles that worked as they were supposed to (as you say, let the momentum close them on the last of the travel). Unfortunately, I have to make a conscious effort to pull the car door with a bit of effort all the way to the post in the Genesis. I once read someone speculate that the cabin is just so air tight, that this creates the problem. Perhaps I'll play around with it today with the passenger door open, or the driver's window down. I'm sure the neighbors will enjoy watching me open and close the doors on my car for 20 minutes for no apparent reason ("boy, he sure likes his new car, huh?") :D

Soft-close doors would have been a small but winning touch for a car which seems to have thought out most other features befitting a luxury sedan competing with the iconic nameplates.

They have soft close doors on the Dubai/Saudi models, to bad they never made it here.

I am not in the middle east and have no current plans to do so.

+1 on each comment, but would prefer to have the soft close doors and retain my current residency. But, as they say: "It is what it is".

I'm planning on checking into the parts for the soft-close doors once the 2015 parts catalog is available.

UPDATE: Got car back and they have ordered a door sensor module.. it will take 2-3 weeks to come in. It is a WINDOW OPEN alert.. when you shut off the car the light comes on in the dash with a red light emitting from passenger side of the car graphic. It also emits a sonar type sound for a few seconds.. not very long.

I see we have finally caught up with the more fancy cars in terms of tech. My 1996 Mercedes SL (18 years old now) has these features. When plugged into the computer they can tell exactly at what height the windows are at. All kinds of sensors in this thing but mostly to do with the convertible system. Been rock solid and hopefully it will stay this way. These were the last of the all German, made in Germany cars. Chrysler really F'd things up.
