  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Fog Light Harness in the 3.8L?

Do the fog lights we are talking about also serve as part of the daytime running light setup? I don't care about fog lights but I would love to see them operate when the engine is running and the car is moving during the day. I have never seen them in person. There aren't a lot of 2015 V8 Gs on the road here which is surprising.

Even the new Sonata has those cool looking daytime running lights. Hyundai missed the boat on these and the lighted door sills for the 3.8 Ultimate.

The key word being "Ultimate". You just can't help but feel like you should have everything with Ultimate package. Well, not free beer maybe... I get that.

Did someone say "Free Beer" :D

The KDM Genesis has always had more options than are available in US or Canada, and costs quite a bit more in Korea. They can do that in Korea, because there is a lot of brand loyalty to domestic auto makers in Korea (same as Japan), but Hyundai Motor America cannot offer a Genesis at same price as MB E350 and expect to sell very many of them.

I am super excited about this!!! Please keep us posted on your progress.

I sure hope that when 2015 gets here we can to get these parts at a decent price will happen as well.

The lighted door sills on the 5.0 will fit the 3.8 I checked to see if the wiring is there and it is folded in the kick panel I seen them for sale for about 200 dollars but I am sure in a couple of months when parts are more available the prices will drop.

Wrong thread maybe?

Correct Lou, but THANKS Marshall!!!!
My passenger side sill has arrived and I'll install very soon. And I WILL look for the connector where you suggested.

Wrong thread maybe?
You are right Lou I am new to the site I wanted to point out how easy it was to accessorize the 2015 Genesis as my tread with the fog light installation Waiting for the multifunction switch (5.0 stalk) with fog light button.

I have a 2015 Genesis 3.8, and I now have the only V6 with fog lamps in the south. I ordered from the eBay link above and received the OEM fog lamps.

Built my own harness using a 4 pin relay (pwr, switch, grd, pwr out). The removal of the and installation of the fog lamp were painless - NO CUTTING ANYWHERE. Used some weather proof connectors at the end of the harness for quick change out in the future if needed.

If you can handle a soldering iron, attaching the weather proof connectors to the fog lamp input pins was easy. Once done, fill with silicon - and your done. As far as the switch to turn it on, I simply attached to the main headlight for trigger. It triggers the relay, and the power comes from a fused line directly from the battery. The headlight has a SINGLE yellow wire - that is the trigger.

I will post pictures this weekend.

Do your fog lights cut out when your High Beams are turned on as most OEM setups work?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
No, they turn on ONLY when the headlight are on and DO NOT turn off with the high beams are on. I hate when fog lamps do that. Most European cars have fog lamps that operate totally separate from the high, and regular lights. Since I am using the regular headlight as a trigger, they stay on as long as the headlights are on.

I do not think it is legal in the US to have the fog lights/driving lights on at the same time as the high beams.

Hahaha, you are not the only one down south who has the fog lights, I got them too from the same seller on eBay, just finishing the installation, they are running the same way you explained, with the low beam night lights. Was trying to switch for DRL the LED instead of the yellow , but it's only one wiring, and if I would switch to turn signal, the LED's would flash too. I think it would look silly :) regarding the LED to be on instead of the yellow, the guys from the light install company told that it might be possible to reprogram at the dealership, just maybe it's worth asking?
The pics will follow in hour or so, but the most work is done, and we putting back the bumper.
BTW when the light installation was done I got this message from Blue Link

A possible condition with your Engine Control System has been detected. Hyundai recommends a full system check when convenient. To schedule an appointment with a Hyundai dealer, say Service Link when asked to say the name of a service.

I think it's might be because the air filter was disconnected and there is some sensor.
I hope that what I just did is not going to void my warranty? [emoji54]
Hope not. If anyone has some info please let me know :)

Looks like it's done for me too, I like how the car looks now, awesome :)
They wired it maybe little differently as you did. The fog lights stay on all the time even with the DRL and of course main lights.
The only thing worries me, is that not going to void the warranty?
Where did you run the wire to the fuse box?
In my car it goes on left side , and into the fuse box, but the wire is clearly visible, if possible can you PM your pics of wire running to the box? I will send you my pics within 30 min.
Thanks.
