So. I have a 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 Ultimate. Took her in to Service - GREAT guys - they thought they fixed problems by flashing programming but not so much. Scheduled to re-take her in, but hands-on and manual-on research found the following
The Manual [Pg 3-37] says: " The mirror will fold or unfold automatically as follows:
- The door is locked or unlocked by the smart key.
- The door is locked or unlocked by the button on the outside door handle.
Note that what it DOES NOT SAY is that the mirrors will auto-fold IF YOU PUSH THE DOOR'S LOCK BUTTON.
Aside from the fact such an omission would be/is WITH RESPECT UTTERLY STUPID I suspect this IS problem as I often put backpack with fob on my back on exiting then lock via door. And have noted that when I use FOB I do see mirrors fold down.
Fellow Genny-ers:
A) Any experience with this; IS this the problem? ; B) if so, think there's any way to make door lock auto close mirrors as an accommodation to a disabled person?
This discovery doesn't, however, solve my "trunk not always auto-open when I approach with fob on me" problem UNLESS what is NOT IN MANUAL is that IF you LOCK FROM THE DOOR LOCK the FOB won't know the car IS locked and thus FOB won't be acknowledged by trunk later to proximity-open trunk?
The relevant pages of the Manual are 3 - 55-57 and they say NAUGHT about the idea that if you don't use FOB to LOCK the car FOB won't know car is locked and thus auto open it later.
Any input on this? Thanks for even thinking on it!
