After seeing this in the manual, I asked my dealer. He got back with me today. For now, it is Eqqus only. He thought maybe it was a "future possibility".

I bet that a $300 experiment would show that the Eqqus key cards would work just fine on the Genesis. I'm not up to putting out that much even if I knew it would work.

Note: The manual seems to be Hundai Motor America specific.

Looking forward to your update. I am in the same state as you so if you wouldn't mind posting your dealers info, I would appreciate it. I will contact my dealer as well to see if they can program it.

Got the card!!! Tomorrow appointment with dealer. Will see the outcome At first got scared a little bit, opened the package and at the front of the card was something written in Korean all over the card, I was so exited that didn't notice, I have to remove the plastic cover LOL

Please let us know what the outcome is. I will be happy to coordinate a group buy if it works.

Perhaps your friend would like to offer a group purchase discount for the key card. They will have to buy it from an alternate channel. Otherwise, we will have to look at a Canadian dealer.

Midnightsun - Can you post up a credit card (blocked out numbers) along side your key fob to give us a better perspective of size?

Hope it works. I know for the 1st gen we were unable to use the KDM winged key fob. The frequency was different than the U.S. fob.

Ouchh, didn't know that. But if it works on Canadian models, it should work with US as well, I don't think that the manufacturer would change the frequency or something, also I found in manual (see my post earlier) that each owner allowed to have 3 key FOB's and one card FOB per car.

Yeah,it feels and looks really cool. I hope so that its going to work. I was thinking, the next thing I'll get the deadbolts for home doors which works with iPhones Bluetooth, and I won't need a keys and wallet, just iphone with cover and there is few slots can put few cards Use the ApplePay and use the card to start a car, open the home doors LOL That would be cool

Well I didn't see a way to get the card from Canadian dealer, just few on eBay, and I choose domestic seller, he was only one from US, and few was from Korea. Choose him just to cut the shipping time.
It's too late anyway, so only option is see if it works

I hope so also as it is really a cool device and very practical. I must warn you though when I totalled my 4.6 I had a spare key fob which I sold to a member in the states. They could not program the Canadian version to work on a US car however I assume it was just a bunch of incompetent people trying to do this. Bottom line is he sent it back to me and I ended up throwing it in a desk. By the way, I do have a spare 2010 4.6 V8 fob in my desk, any one want to buy it for peanuts?

Sorry to hear about your loss, please don't scare me I think the dealership will know how to do this, and who knows for what country this card is designed, it could be as well for US. But it's from MOBIS parts store. If the dealer won't be able, I'll go different ways until I succeed. There is a programs to duplicate FOB's signals even if it's random and changing every time. How does the luxury car thieves are able to duplicate the keys signals and get the car. If one person for example my dealer won't know or tell that it's not working, it doesn't mean that it's right, I will go until I find who say , I can do it

Good luck today. I am hoping you get it working. I spoke to my dealer and they said it would be a 50/50 shot of them being able to program it. I told them someone on the forum got one and when he receives it he is going to take it to his dealer in Doral to get it programmed. I am patiently waiting to hear your outcome.

With EXTREME respect and just because an inaccuracy could lead someone astray, I point out that we are only allowed THREE FOB/CARDS TOTAL. So it's NOT 3 PLUS a card but 3 INCLUDING card:

"A maximum of three Smart Keys
including Card Type Smart Keys can
be registered to a single vehicle."

Page 3-5 of Owner's Manual.

and with further respect there are reasons the frequency would be changed including laws of country and frequency conflicts.

I don't know about that , all I know it WORKS!!!!!! Just programmed the card at dealership, took 5 min, cost 0$ yehaaaa

I bought it at eBay, from US seller, it came quick, asked him yesterday if it should work, he told that when he purchased from MOBIS and asked about compability with US models, they told that it works with any country models.
