  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Bluelink 3.0

The reason it's being discussed is because the original poster specifically inquired about the new Bluelink v3.0 app. There was not a word mentioned in the post about the "Genesis" app which I suppose applies to the 2015 models only.

Any confusion should be credited to Hyundai for creating so many apps with similar names and features.

The original poster owns a 2015 Genesiis (check his sig), but inquired about the Genesis Bluelink 3.0. My point is that the Bluelink 3.0 App is not for use with the 2015 Genesis - the Genesis Intelligent Assistant App is the correct app for the 2015 Genesis. Discussing the Bluelink 3.0 App in the 2015 Genesis Sedan forum is just confusing people into thinking that there is a newer version than 2.0 for the Genesis Intelligent Assistant App when there is not - version 2.0 that came last month is the latest!

Maybe a bit of misinformation or somebody made a premature start.

Newsroom - Hyundai Motor America

The new features described for the Genesis Intelligent Assistant App already came with version 2.0 last month - October 8th for Android and October 12th for iPhone.

Bluelink 3.0 (NOT for the 2015 Genesis) was just released for Android (on Oct 30th) and iPhone (on November 5th).

So, you're confirming both misinformation and premature start. Thanks for clearing that up!

Just trying clarify the confusion there seems to be about the 2 distinctly different apps...

First, to chime in, I have a Genesis 3.8 Ultimate and run an iPhone and the Genesis App. When I checked my app, it says Version 2.0, it did NOT inform me of an update and there's no update in the App store, but the app in the store gives its update date as Oct. 12, and what's on my phone DOES require log-in every time.

But, my REAL question here is videopho: you said you got a special promo from Hyundai for an $86 for two years update, where did that come from?

Nikgen, you may be creating the confusion. Hyundai clearly states in the Google Play store that one of the new features in the Bluelink v3.0 is: "Support for all Blue Link vehicles added! Access all of your Blue Link cars from one app."

Check it out if you dare. Scroll down to What's New: Google Play Store

You are right, this is what I receive in email from Hyundai BlueLink customer care

Thank you for contacting the Genesis Customer Connect Center. We appreciate the opportunity to assist with your inquiries regarding the Genesis Intelligent Assistant App for your 2015 Genesis.
Regarding the 3.0 version of our mobile app in the article you listed, this is actually referring to our Blue Link application which can be used for all vehicles, including your Genesis. The Blue Link 3.0 app is currently available on all Android devices and will be available very soon for Apple devices.

Ok - I guess I stand corrected with version 3.0 of Bluelink (version 2 did NOT support the 2015 Genesis).

However, Bluelink doesn't appear to have the "intelligent" features/reminders that the dedicated Genesis App has? So now they have 2 apps that do most of the the same things to support (but one of them only works with one model) - doesn't seem like a smart move on their part?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Just downloaded the Bluelink 3.0 app and it does work with my 2015 Genesis - so I was wrong. I guess it makes sense if you own other Hyundai's in addition to your 2015 Genesis and want to control them all with 1 app (and don't want/need the extra "intelligent" features of the dedicated Genesis App).

Nikgen Can you tell me if you need to keep entering in your password to make this 3.0 APP work or does it remember it?

Bluelink 3.0 times you out after a while so you need to re-enter your password, just like you now have to do on version 2.0 of the Genesis App - previous version of Genesis App did not do this and kept you logged in.

Hopefully, Hyundai's software technology gurus will soon figure out how to combine the features of the Intelligent Assistant app and the Bluelink app into a single app - it doesn't seem like an impossible task. I think they just need to be motivated by user feedback. Even if the "intelligent" features would not work on my 2013 R-Spec, it makes sense to combine them.

Agreed - and make it more reliable - it was cold as i was getting ready to leave the office today, so I figured I'd remote start. Alas, neither the Genesis App nor the Bluelink 3.0 App would connect - both returned something to the effect of "there is a problem, please try again later or call BlueLink at xxx..." - really????

I've been dealing with BlueLink issues the last few weeks and have some updated information that might help to lesson the confusion.

On the iPhone there are two different apps which support BlueLink on the 2015 Genesis.

"Hyundai Blue Link" (currently version 3.0)
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hyundai-blue-link/id893514610?mt=8

"2015 Genesis" (currently version 2.0)
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/2015-genesis/id867941329?mt=8

BOTH apps are fully functional with a 2015 Genesis. In my opinion, the 2015 Genesis app is far superior for our use. The 2015 Genesis app is NOT being discontinued or replaced.

The 2015 Genesis app DOES HAVE a version 3.0 release, however Apple has not yet approved it in the app store, so we are still waiting. It is my understanding that the 2015 Genesis app for Android is already at version 3.0 in the Google Play store.

Happy Driving!

The Adroid Genesis App available for download on the Google Play Store is at version 2.0 just like the iPhone App.

Hi, not sure if anyone is experiencing this, but after the latest BlueLink IOS update, I've been getting false notifications to my phone about the car being sent 'Start' commands. I use it in the morning around 6 am and I get the notification on the phone and email, but after the update, I get the same 'Start' command notification @ 8 am, even though I never sent the command. I tried reaching out to Hyundai and they say, we looked at your log on the car it was sent at these times, and I told them, the entries are correct, but your IOS app is stating otherwise with alerts.
