  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I noted the following just at first glance:

Their V6 Ultimate car gets the 19" wheels AND the soft close doors.

It looks like all models get the rear armrest audio and seat controls.

The Sensory and Ultimate packages also include the around view monitor.

As I think the Aussies just got their car this pretty much reinforces my resolve to hold off buying until the revised US model. In addition to the fog light situation I would definitely like the 19" wheels and around view monitor. The rear seat controls would be great but given the need to leave space for the Equus in the model lineup I am guessing we will never see that.

To: Hyundai USA Large Car Product Manager - just DO IT ALREADY on the V6 AWD and V8 Ultimate cars - put it all in there - I'll buy :)

Not to mention they also get free scheduled maintenance for 5 years/ 75000 km AND 3 years of free map updates!

What is the price differential for a USA model versus an Aussie model?

You may wait forever as I doubt these features will show up over here. Rear seat entertainment and soft close doors would easily add several thousand to the price so I do not see this happening any time soon. I can see the V8 AWD and standard fog lights happening in the future state side but thats about it.

You are forgetting the Equus which IS the flagship over here. This is where you will most likely see these features pop up on the North American market. Your fully loaded model in a stretched version is unfortunately still under development. http://www.automobilemag.com/features/news/1409-next-hyundai-equus-spied/

I notice they get the plasti-wood dash, not the real wood inserts

I would definitely take an Equus once they update it IF it had AWD. If the next revision of the Genesis V6 AWD car has the fog lights at a minimum I'm in. At this point it's just become a stupid hangup of mine that the Azera and the Sonata both get them and the Genesis V6 AWD car does not.

I was seriously considering a run across the border to buy your exact car but then I learned those don't get BlueLink and XM radio if I am correct.

How do you like the AWD + V8 combination by the way?

...and oddly they get the 9.2" screen from the upgraded DIS but not the rotary controller and buttons on the center armrest. That's the first I have seen that.

BMW charges $600 for soft close doors as a 5 series option, I doubt Hyundai would be able to charge more. The point being, at least offer some of these things as an option (soft close doors, 19" wheel upgrade). I for one would've considered paying $1,500-$2,000 more just for those two!

Correct, no bluelink but yes to XM. You would also be stuck in reading KPH as opposed to MPH and there is no way of changing this just like the US version cannot be changed to KPH. Very weird when going to the states and seeing the posted speed limit as 104KPH. I have owne/own dozens of vehicles with digital readouts and this is the first I have ever seen where you cannot changed this. Overlooked this big time if you ask me.

As or the V8 Htrac, could not be more pleased. ;)

I am sure the KPM to MPH can be changed in the Maintenance Menu. One would have to have the code to enter it. Just like the 2009-2013 had a code to enter the menu.

Nope, we already went over this with someone who was transferred to Korea and was bringing his US model with him. If I remember correctly, Hyundai Korea said there was no way to change the read out from Imperial to metric. Something to do with not purchasing out of country and importing to save $ I think.

BMW and MB offer a lot of individual options for those who want to customer order from factory. Almost all Japanese and Korean cars have 3-4 trim levels with a set feature set for each, so it is not as simple as just adding a new option for $600.

Looks like there is a rear deck lid spoiler.. not sure if its an optical illusion or what.

They also get the 17 speaker Lexicon system standard, LED Daytime running lights, ...

Yeah I noticed that too and wondered if it "really" looks like that or the lighting and shadows make it look like it does. It looks hawt. Hyundai would have gotten more of my money if they had thrown in 19's, fog lamps and that spoiler-look on a Signature.

Looks like they have 3D navigation, too, not that it's a show stopper.

I have 3D Nav on my car, although it is a bit cartoonish and the buildings (at least the TN State Capital building) are not correctly oriented. The State Capital is perpendicular to the road, but the image on the map was rotated 270 degrees.

I was surprised when I saw it, I hardly use that scale of the nav map. My VW Touareg's 3D nav map is much, much better.

They also get swiveling headlamps:

STATIC BENDING LIGHTS
Night driving visibility and safety are enhanced by cornering headlights that
are activated by the steering direction to illuminate blind spots.

They do not list Lane Keep Assist in the brochure.
