The 2015 North American Auto Show is in January 2015, and only 2015 model year vehicles that are substantially new for that year are eligible for Car or Truck of the Year. Hyundai Genesis won in 2009.

I beat you guys to the Mustang prediction several weeks ago even before the finalists were even announced, for which was I beat up extensively on this forum. My theory is that there is too much sentimental feeling for the Mustang, and the auto show is in Detroit.

Independent rear suspension, excellent handling, and a 400+ hp engine. Oh yes, good looks. Yes, the same things can be said for the Genesis, but how big a market (and advertising) does a luxury car from Korea have??
