  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A storm dumped 4 inchs of snow yesterday in my area. After work try to get on the main road and felt the rear slip and slide more than this morning(same amout of snow) I had to counter steer every time I step on the gas pedal(with snow tires) About 2 minutes later the ABS and ESC lights came on and stayed on. So I tried a hard braking(no cars around of course) no ABS pause, car just slid. Next red light I shut off the car and restart it, fortunately both lights did not stay on and car back to normal. Did any one else had this problem? Car is 09 with 149 thousand km or 92 thousand miles.

Could be HECU failure that was related to brake fluid recall. You can google for more information.

Brake fluid recall was done this spring.
The brake fluid recall did not fix the HECU. It only slows down further corrosion of HECU valves that get actuated during ABS usage, causing loss of braking when valves become too corroded. Quite a few people have reported HECU failure after having the brake fluid recall done.
