  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I just had a jaw-dropping experience at the dealership...

Wait, I had an Azera before the Genesis. I wonder if I make the cut.
dg,

Bad news. You did not make the cut. However, we can offer you a position on our practice squad if you are interested.

Nuts! If I'd known the Genesis was coming out I'd never have bought the Azera, which at the time I thought was a pretty nice car. And now I find my social status has taken a hit to boot. Life can sure be unfair. To whom do I address my complaint??

I should have posted its not everyone buying a Hyundai Elantra or Sante Fe but I have seen some interesting people along side the nice ones at my Hyundai Dealer. I don't beleive either of you guys are being thrown in the dung here :)

I've seen a lot of leasing "owners" hanging around Benz and BMW showrooms. Wannabees all.

Whoah this blew up into something weird. I don't mean to insult anyone here. I am saying that generally, the people who drive Accent, Elantra, low end Sonata are low end people. Remember what Hyundai is, after all, a low end brand. In essence, all BMW, Benz, Audi drivers would even look down on an Equus owner....

No offence, but this does not feel / sound that much better. It seems labeling students, newly married couple, people with limited means under a single umbrella, may not be articulate enough for some of us...

We are all in the same club, so If I may, how about something like "the people who drive Accent, Elantra, low end Sonata" may have limited means, "Remember what Hyundai is, after all" an aspiring brand, with humble beginnings that has begun to offer quality products for the value conscious consumer "In essence, all BMW, Benz, Audi drivers" still have misconceptions about the brand and therefore may "even look down on an Equus owner"...

I am sure many of us (including you?) in this forum could have afforded any number of cars out there at the time of our purchase, heck many of us came from established luxury label / "high end" brands and most of us are happy with our decision to give the 'underdog' a chance, just to see how far the Hyundai(/Kia) brand can go up the ladder and give the "High end" brands a run for their money!?...

I'm with you on that. Your response is more eloquent than mine but essentially says the same thing. I am not a Hyundai basher by any means, I worked for them for a few years pushing these cars and I know the way they treat the customer. Its a subpar (or aspiring if you will) experience to other brands on the market. I am simply sharing my opinions of where hyundai is lacking. Not saying the well informed/well-to-do owners are not smart or high end.

We all landed here for a reason, whether for the price for features or the fact that we plain couldn't afford more, we are all here. All enjoying our cars.

They might......But, they'd be wrong!;)

This is such a true statement. I love the Equus and hopefully that will be my next car :D (if they make AWD Equus by then...fingers crossed)

When I purchased my Genesis, I tried to steer clear of the great unwashed and their straw hats and bib overalls (without T-Shirts).
I had to tell my wife to keep her distance from the Hoi Polloi.
