If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just curious as to why the cd player says mp3 6cd player and...and Bluetooth....but I don't see how to stream bluetooth..when I looked at the car and asked the sales person if it was bluetooth they pointed to the cd player and it clearly says bluetooth...

What am I missing?

Stupid salesman. If you have a '12 Tech package model (like an R-Spec) it will connect with a Bluetooth phone, but it DOES NOT stream BT audio. All other non-Tech package '12 models (basic and premium package) can do both functions. This was a blunder on Hyundai's part.

Well that's pretty nutty...and MISLEADING...it says bluetooth on the dang CD player lol.....on a list of audio options no less.

So....maybe I will use an USB ...is there any particular one that works better than another?

I tried using a cord and just plugged it in but then the middle console thing doesn't close properly...and my phone is too big (note 4) to fit in the upper tray. Sigh

I read about a bluetooth dongle, plugs into the usb port and it will stream music. I don't know any more about it though.

You have a few options...

First, you can feed a cord up from inside the armrest in a little notch for that purpose. But you are tethered.

Second, you can use something like this that will stream via AirPlay (for Apple people) and DLNA. It plugs into the aux jack, and bingo. The sound quality is excellent.

Or, you can install a little BT receiver inside the arm rest. The only down side to BT is that the Genesis phone BT profile can cause dropouts with some folks. Android people can change the BT profile to stop the problem. But Apple people cannot. Here are a couple threads about BT receivers and some comparisons.

I use one on my 2012, works great. Made sure I got one that auto-pairs without pushing any buttons. Just a small device, plugs into the cigarette lighter for power, and into the mini-phono plug for the sound. You set the source selector to Aux.

My HTC M8 cell phone links to two Bluetooth sources simultaneously so I have it linked to the car for phone calls and to a Bluetooth module that is plugged into my cars auxiliary input located in the center storage for music playback. It works beautifully, quality is pretty good from what I can tell and I can still make phone calls via the cars Lexicon system.

Here is the Bluetooth unit I'm using:

A friend has a 2011 Genesis sedan that he has activated 5 Bluetooth phones on. He has a new iPhone 6, that he would like to connect. He thinks he deleted a phone from the memory earlier, but now that he has the full complement of 5 different devices, the system will not allow him to delete one in order to make room for the iPhone 6. The dealer cannot help. Has anyone seen this? Jim

There are little notches cut into the front of the center console to run wires out so it will close properly. Take a closer look, ya cant miss em. :)

I too have the Note 4! A cool spot for stashing your phone (instead of using the cupholder) is to put it in the crack created by opening the cup holder "door". It will make a little crack between itself and the center arm rest. It's not deep enough to swallow your phone or anything weird like that.

It's just greatness.

phone calls still work as normal through the stereo, or do they get routed through the dongle?

I did not need the isolator, it worked fine for me without. Here is a link to what I bought: http://www.amazon.com/gp/r.html?R=3...LTW60/ref=pe_385040_30332190_TE_M3T1_ST1_dp_1

I have a Nexus 5 that sits on a wireless charging windshield mount. Android can support multiple Bluetooth connections simultaneously, and you can set each to a specific use. So, I've got the Genesis BT connection set to Phone audio and Contact sharing. And the BTC450 BT connection set to Media audio only. The Kinivo BT receiver plugs into the 12V outlet in the center console for power, and into the aux mini-plug in the console for the audio. You, of course, have to set the stereo to aux to hear the streaming music, or something like Waze, for that matter.

I bought the above item from Amazon. I have no idea why it keeps displaying an Ebay link.

I have a 2012 4.6 that comes with tech package. I've been searching for a solution to the bluetooth audio streaming and have finally found a solution that I can live with. Here is what I purchased:

Aux music Bluetooth 4.0 Receiver for iphone5 6 7 8 X Fit KIA Hyundai Car Stereo | eBay

or on Amazon here:

https://www.amazon.com/CHELINK-Blue...3&sr=8-2&keywords=chelink+audio+bluetooth+4.0

The device allow bluetooth audio streaming and appropriately switches back and forth to the phone. The only feature it does not support is steering wheel controls.

I am looking at a 2012 Hyundai Genesis 4.6. The original sticker says standard PKG 1. 8" screen. Do you think it will stream BT audio?

It will not stream BT audio if it has the 17 speaker Lexicon audio with the jog controller dial on the console.

I ordered this recently: https://www.amazon.com/BK01-Bluetooth-Hands-Free-Wireless-Streaming/dp/B01MSUWCZ0?ref_=ast_sto_dp
Seems to work well so far, automatic connection and decent sound quality.
The button for switching songs is also useful. I put it near the FM/AM button.
Using car bluetooth for calls and this for music/navigation.

I have a 2013 r-spec but it seems to have the older infotainment from 2012 which doesn't stream Bluetooth music either.
(Maybe something do do with it being a Canadian car)
