  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have the 2012 R Spec sedan and what's happening is when I plug the phone in with the cable, a message appairs that reads no video source found. I have the phone paired with the car and the bluetooth connection is set, but there's no music or telephone audio when plugged in. Any ideas on this problematic situation?

Have you tried pressing "Play" on the phone?

Yes and when I do that, the music plays on the phone and not through the stereo system.

You get your telephone audio via Bluetooth, not wired. Unfortunately, your '12 R-Spec does not stream BT audio

I know that there's no wireless streaming via bluetooth, I'm only talking about once the phone is plugged in with the USB/Aux cable does the message show up on the screen.

When asking a question here it's always best to tell all the details about your equipment. For example, you still haven't mentioned what kind of phone you have.

Iphone 6 plus

Thought II'dincluded that, but I see I didn't. Sorry

You can't use an apple USB cable. You have to use the Hyundai Apple 30-pin cable and an apple 30-pin to Lightning adapter. Or just use an ordinary aux-to-aux 3.5mm cable.

Okay here's the problem I'm having. I plug my iphone 6 using a 8 pin adapter into the dealer's supplied USB/Auxillary cable, my phone is already connected and paired with bluetooth. Once I push the Cd/Aux button in the car, a message appears on the screen that reads " No Video Source". I went to Apple Store thinking it may be the phone. Once the phone was replaced with a new one, I'd downloaded all my music back to the phone and again plugged the phone in using the adapter and USB/Aux cable, the same message appeared again, which tells me it's not the phone, but the unit. I had reset the unit multiple times and still no fix. My iphone 3Gs plays fine on the system, but not the 6 plus. Has anyone ever experienced this problem or knows what it can be? Help Please

Are you using the Apple branded 30-pin to Lightning adapter? A few folks have had problems with aftermarket adapters.

Yes. I'd even bought a new cable from Hyundai thinking it may the cable.

Well, we have exhausted all of my initial debug questions. The "no video" message simply means that the car is not seeing the phone over the USB connection.

You have tried:
  • 2 iPhone 6 phones
  • 1 iPhone 3Gs
  • 2 Hyundai 30-pin iPhone cables
  • 1 Apple 30-pin to Lightning adapter

The only thing that worked from the list above was the iPhone 3Gs. So, by process of elimination, the only thing left could be the 30-pin to Lightning adapter or the car. However, since the old phone worked, I put my money on the adapter.

Thank you so much for the help. It probably is the adapter, so what I'll do is start fresh with a new adapter and USB/Aux cable and hopefully that works. If not, I scheduled an appointment with Hyundai service for them to look at.

Does anyone out there knows where I can get a used passenger side mirror for a 2012 Genesis R Spec sedan?
