  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Start/Splash Screen

Hold the volume button in for about 10 seconds and the digital clock will appear. After that you just need to touch the volume button to have it reappear.:welcome:

Thanks for telling me/us how to get the clock to appear :). After turning and pushing everything on the dashboard tell us/me how to make the 'Genesis' logo appear?

I only see the Genesis logo when I start the car. I don't think you can pull it up on it's own?

Pretty sure it's a software bug. System crashes silently instead of sleeping and needs to boot sometimes

The real issue, as far as I am concerned, is how do you get rid of the so-called "boot logo" and safety warning forever.

They built a car with every conceivable gadget, and then force you to watch a warning about it.

This splash screen is referenced at page 1-9 of the the user's manual, and they kind of hint that a screensaver can be substituted for it thru the setup screen.

Any ideas on how to banish this thing?

Every car I've had has had warnings. It's called butt covering thanks to litigious world we live in.
Quite right, and don't forget to wear proper shoes when you're driving your nice new Genesis. It's in the manual along with the many hundreds of other "safety" warnings.

LOL

That's true for most inputs EXCEPT the iPhone - it annoylingy reverts back the the first song alphabetically on that input with each restart...

I took an old iPhone and hooked it up with USB in order to avoid the long bluetooth connection process. Both methods resulted in resumed audio right where I left off, though of course bluetooth must be switched to whereas via USB it just resumes without touching anything. Which is fantastic.

Check out the beginning of this video clip of a Genesis test drive by "Winding Road for Drivers". When the driver starts the engine, the Genesis logo splash screen appears on the Nav screen & remains in view for nearly 10 seconds until the driver shifts into reverse and the rear view camera image then appears on screen. When I start my car, the same Genesis logo is almost never in view -and when it rarely is, it appears for only a fraction of a second before the "nanny screen" safety warning appears. Is this the inconsistency referred to in prior posts? Does anyone know whether or how the Genesis logo splash screen can be made to appear on start up? (since I like the effect). Here's the link to the Winding Road video clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19cK_aiKkzc

Wow. Just watched Winding Road video. I have never seen the analog clock on the screen before! I remember setting the analog clock to appear on start up but I have never actually seen it.

I always get the Genesis logo when I start and the boot times do vary. I never worried about the different boot problems. I think that is normal.

I do not get the Genesis logo on the Nav screen...only briefly on the small info screen on startup.
I'll bet it depends what upgrade pkg you have to show on the Nav screen

Nope...tried that and all I get is the warning note and it changes to Nav...I didn't even have to push except button..it auto goes to Nav

Did you have the Screen Saver turned on? Someone on here posted that if you have the Screen Saver checked and turn off the radio, that is when it appears. I have never tried it as I love my music too much :D

Anyone figure out how to fix this? or know if the dealer can fix this somehow
