  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How are you all installing th Air Bag Wing Emblem?

Removing the H emblem and installing in the recess?

Going over the H emblem?

Want to install be not sure how easy the H emblem will remove.

This has been explored thoroughly in other threads. Basically you have 2 options: get a stick-on that goes over the lazy H, or get an airbag that has the wing emblem. It is not possible to remove the H emblem from the airbag - some here have tried that and failed. If expense is an issue, get the stick-on for a few bucks; if you don't like the looks, replace the airbag - eBay has one for $279; Korean Auto Imports has one for $295.

I had a stick on in my 2011 for about 1 week. To me it looked totally cheesy and cheap. I took it off. Ordered a KDM bag and changed it to the OEM wings. When I purchased my 2014 I ordered the KDM bag straight away.

I suggest either using the KDM unit so you have the proper wings or just love the H and keep it. Because the stick on piece is not very attractive IMO.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

That is where I purchased both of mine. The total time to change the airbag is less than 30 minutes. I have done it twice (2011 and 2014) and it is very quick and easy. Disconnect the battery, then two bolts and three small plugs. Reverse. Super easy.

IMO - You should either to the KDM bag or just leave the H. Because the H looks much nicer than the little sticker thing that goes over it.

I put the sticker on my toolbox. I think it looks cheap and would leave the H unless buying a KDM airbag unit.

I guess I'll have to like the H, UGH hate it. The wife does not see the issue and see the 245.00 a waste of money. I had the dealer throw in all the wing badging Hood (not going to use) Trunk (love it on) Wheels (not on yet) Need a Air Bag.

Thanks as I tried to do a search but did not see a thread where someone tried to remove the H. I fugured it had two pins through the air bacg cover and heated and smashed from the rear to hold in place.

Thanks

Rich

On my 2011, I installed the KDM bag and sold my old on online for $150. The 2014, I am doing the same. Already installed my KDM bag, and listed my stock airbag. My old stock unit hasn't sold yet, but it will.

I did the trunk and the wheels. I won't do the hood because I just don't care for it.

The one that sticks over the H on the wheel is just too cheap to me. I didn't like it at all. The H in the wheel really isn't bad at all. I am not a brand snob. But I do like the overall look to the be the same and the wings are very cool.

Nope - it's embedded in the airbag cover. A couple of guys ruined theirs trying to dig it out. If you get the $245 airbag with wings you can resell your OEM bag on eBay for around $150, so your net cost would be less than $100. That's what I and several others here did.

Wish I could have done that but the H on my airbag was bubbling/peeling and Hyundai didn't want to replace it saying it was my fault that it happened. Still kinda pissed about that.
