This has been explored thoroughly in other threads. Basically you have 2 options: get a stick-on that goes over the lazy H, or get an airbag that has the wing emblem. It is not possible to remove the H emblem from the airbag - some here have tried that and failed. If expense is an issue, get the stick-on for a few bucks; if you don't like the looks, replace the airbag - eBay has one for $279; Korean Auto Imports has one for $295.
Get the KDM airbag from those guys, still $245 http://sfrusa.3dcartstores.com/Hyundai-Genesis-KDM-Steering-Airbag-Unit_p_341.html (perfect color match)
and use my DIY how to replace it (easy one) http://genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showpost.php?p=151122&postcount=134
I guess I'll have to like the H, UGH hate it. The wife does not see the issue and see the 245.00 a waste of money. I had the dealer throw in all the wing badging Hood (not going to use) Trunk (love it on) Wheels (not on yet) Need a Air Bag.
Thanks as I tried to do a search but did not see a thread where someone tried to remove the H. I fugured it had two pins through the air bacg cover and heated and smashed from the rear to hold in place.
Thanks
Rich
Nope - it's embedded in the airbag cover. A couple of guys ruined theirs trying to dig it out. If you get the $245 airbag with wings you can resell your OEM bag on eBay for around $150, so your net cost would be less than $100. That's what I and several others here did.... I fugured it had two pins through the air bacg cover and heated and smashed from the rear to hold in place.
Thanks
Rich
