  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I saw a 2016 on display in a mall.

What is different?

Black one, very nice and balanced as usual.

I believe this is the last year for America's first generation Hyundai Equus. So it's the most buttoned down version of the vehicle available. I'm almost positive the next Equus will be the second generation. They need it to compete with the upcoming new Cadillac CT6 and reborn Lincoln Continental.

If I was a betting man I would agree. Dealers still have 2014's on the lot that they are unloading for cheap... My first assumption was that they were either discontinuing the Equus all together or a new body design etc was coming out.

Regardless, that doesn't put me off for potentially buying an old body style.

To be honest, I think the Genesis and the Equus have great beginnings in terms of design which is why when I see a 2009-2014 Genesis on the road I still think they look amazing.

I have a 2014 Genesis 5.0 R-Spec I use as my daily driver / mobile office. My business partner has a 2014 Equus Ultimate. Whenever I am riding with him or driving his Equus I realize it is almost as good (and in some areas better) than my 2014 S550. The Equus is very nice, especially in Ultimate trim. I am hopeful Hyundai will continue with the Equus and expect that if they do, the next generation will be really fantastic. I might even buy a left over 15 or 16 along the way to replace the Genesis at some point. Its on my mind.

Thanks for the info on (no) changes... and the GREAT feedback on thr car itself.

I really hope they continue with the Equus but there's not really a HUGE case for it - which worries me. The Genesis is nearly the same size except for 4 or 5 inches of rear legroom. And feature-wise - I'm not sure what the next Equus could get to separate it from the Genesis...

I went to the nearest dealer and tried a pragmatic comparison.
My grand kids and wife along.
They loved the Equus for its sophistication.

Also, the exterior level of details shows luxury. (G2 lost some to G1 in this point)

It would be great if Hyundai were able to generate sales.
But it looks hard...
Also, the car, except for the discounts, is too expensive.

And it will be impossible to have a full line heavily discounted forever.

There is a brand new 2014 Equus for $47,888.00 at my local dealer.
