  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The Poor Kia K900

Yeah, that's great but I think it MIGHT be safe to say that NOBODY here knows anyone who owns a K900. I mean - you may know somebody who knows somebody on the internet... But, really. Who actually knows somebody who "knows" (sees) somebody who has a K900?

Kia imported only a small number to the US. Only one of several of the dealers in my area got even one.

What is the genesis budgeted to sell this year.

Doesn't matter that much to Kia. The plan is to use the K900 to improve the brand image and sell a lot Optima's.

BTW, I assume you know that Lebron has one:

"When James won the NBA MVP award he donated the Kias he had won, but after cruising around in the K900 he asked Kia if they could give him one of his own. Of course the automaker jumped at the chance to forge a partnership."

Hyundai is not exactly burning up the market with Equus.

I honestly like the K900 styling over the Equus except for the steering wheel. The steering wheel of the K900 is gross looking.

Both manufacturers use some of the same tech however the styling is completely different. I think I like the new Kia big picture better than Hyundai.

I purchased my Equus only because I got a good deal on it and loved my 2009 Genesis. I'll only purchase Kia or Hyundai right now. My wife has a new 2016 Sorento SX which is really amazing. She came from a 2006 Kia Sportage and we put 176K flawless miles on it.

Both brands have the best value for the money. Even my friends and co-workers are coming around to the notion that Kia and Hyundai are better brands than what they drive....

Yes, I know about Lebron... I also know that Hyundai isn't selling a lot of the Equus but I see them on the road all the time. Even after only one year I was seeing the Equus occasionally. Now, every day...

I like the Kia K900 inside and out. I just think they priced it too high. Also, the Kia is much more "current" than the Equus - which is about ready for a new design. I'm sure the new Equus is going to be really nice...

If you really like the Kia but not the price- there is a pile of them at carmax for mid 30's and very low mileage. It's the only way to logically buy one.

I'd jump on that in a heartbeat but I'm concerned about a used Kia K900 without the proper warranty. I've never purchased a car from Carmax but I would want a car with so much technology to have the best coverage possible...

Also, I WISH I could find the Kia K900s on Carmax. I don't know how you guys are finding them. K900 is not in the vehicle dropdown and even if I search for a full-size sedan - only the Cadenza shows up in the search results...

I have the carmax app on my phone. I just go in the app. Select Kia. Then select K900. There are 26 of them right now. All very low mileage and reasonable pricing.

Doesn't the Kia come with the same warranty of a Hyundai? That means 5/60 warranty. And it's easy to put a warranty wrap on one. I have purchased many cars from carmax and sold many to them as well. Have always had good luck.

I've thought about going from my Genesis daily driver to the K900 for a daily driver.

Found them on my iPad.

I really like the idea of having the extra 40Kmi on the warranty but Hyudai and Kia have proven themselves over and over again that their motors will last that long without any issues. So I'm sure the warranty wouldn't come in to play.

......but knowing you have the full warranty makes me and I'm sure others feel a little more comfortable.

Man, if they could only fix that damn steering wheel... looks gross.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
But is that extra warranty worth $30k? Nope. So get an extended plan for even $2k and save a bunch of cash.

^ That. I visited my local dealer today to inquire about the k900 new and they said that the k900 is special order only and are not being shipped to every dealer without an order. Interesting lol

Since seeing the K900 in a car show last year, I have yet to spot one on the road.

That was it! DISTANCE. Why didn't I notice that? Taking a look now...

So the warranty would be...what? If it's still got a good warranty then I may be looking at my next car as the Kia K900. I'll be looking probably in August or September and while I wouldn't pay $70k, I'll gladly pay $40k for something lightly used...

I have seen two on the road in SoCal. I think they look very good and in fact, I feel like it would be "special" since you wouldn't be driving what everyone else does. To me, the best deal is the CarMax vehicles. They are very low mileage and half the cost. Lot to choose from. I believe the warranty would be $2k or maybe $2.5k for a nice extended plan of full coverage. Certainly it could be shopped for the best deal. Even adding the warranty though it would be no place near the new cost of the K900 and you still have a lot of factory warranty left as well.

I'll definitely be looking at these in a couple of months. I've seen the K900 at a few shows and sat in a couple as well - but have only seen one on the road. I'd definitely debadge it because I REALLY don't like the KIA badge. It looks cheap. But the rest of the car looks great - especially the back...

Or do this for badging:

The Kia 900, like Equus has 2 different trim levels (Premium and Luxury), and there is even an $8K add-on package that needs to be added to the Luxury trim to get all the goodies.
