  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

one thing I noticed that in Canada Genesis 3.8 Technology package (highest package for 3.8 offered) doesn't offer the following:

  • Rear auto sun shade
  • 17 Speakers
  • 9.2" HD Screen

Is it true or the Canadian site (hyundaicanada.com) has typo?

Also, In Canada the Genesis 5.0 offered in AWD.

My issue is I really want 9.2" HD screen, rear sunshade and 17 speakers but hoping not to drive gas drinker V8.
People also in the review said, V8 drives really smooth like butter compare to V6. Not sure what that meant.

PS: I am doing lots of research and I have decided to buy it. I think lease would be good option since I feel the (value depreciation) price drops dramatically for this car. What most of you did? buy or lease? Also, how many people are actually thinking to wait for the 2016 model. It's not a redesign but you think there will be big changes?

That about sums it up. Regardless of trim, no Canadian model offers the rear sun shade. If you want 9.2" and the dis controller then you must get the V8. Bluelink is not available in Canada and does not come with any Hyundai.

Really, no bluelink. That's so sad. Can you alteast use the bluelink app to send map to the car or remote start your car from the phone?

what is dis controller?

DIS controller is the knob that will be located in front of the center console/arm rest

Nope. I went with Drone mobile which definitely does a better job than the Blue Link remote start. http://www.dronemobile.com

Wish I could get the 'Concealable Storage Trunk Tray' that is an available accessory when building your Canadian Genesis.

In what way? The Bluelink Genesis app has capabilities that I don't see on the Drone. I don't see where it's better? Obviously, a good choice in Canada where Bluelink is not an option though.

Maybe things have changed but I kept reading how it sometimes works and sometimes it does not and then there were a bunch of limitations. Something like if the car has not been started in 6 days you cannot start it or if a window is open or if the doors are not locked or if you are farther than a mile away. None of this exists on the Drone mobile unit.

I find it pretty reliable, though fails based on network connectivity issues every now and then.

I like that I can not just start the car, but can set climate temp and turn on defrost as well. You can flash lights and horn or use the map to locate your car (map find is meant for when you "lose" your car in a parking lot so you need to be within a mile of it). You will get panic alerts via e-mail or text as well (I got a number of these while the car was at the dealer for 10 days trying to fix my sunroof rattle (not fixed!).

Perhaps one of the coolest features is Google POI search that can send the result right to the Genesis Nav System. It also integrates your calendar and you can schedule service or call roadside assistance right from the app. All in all it's actually a very nice app.

Leasing is good if you can write off the expense against your taxes, but Hyundai Canada has adjusted the residual values downwards on leases compared to the Gen-1 Genesis, so it is not as good a deal finance-wise as it used to be.
I doubt there will be any significant changes for 2016 and you can get a much better deal on a 2015 that is on the dealers lot, assuming you can find the model and colour that you want.

You can purchase it from any Hyundai dealer parts department in Canada as an accessory, even after delivery of your car.

I'm visiting in Northern Maine and went to a NB dealer parts dept. to buy that cover and was told it is no longer available. The parts guy tried a couple Hyundai contacts to find out why and if one might still be available somewhere. However, he hadn't heard back from anyone via email before leaving for vacation this week. I'll be calling him beginning of next week to see what he found out.

I just called my local dealer and they still show it as available. $28.45 CDN ($22 USD). I think he said the Part Number was B11H28P000 but he rambled it off so quickly I can't be sure.

I am not a big fan of aftermarket install, often times they don't work very well. It's nice to have factory (well tested with the car) module. Are you guys sure blue link is not available in Canada?

What do you get in bluelink anyway? it's not very clear reading info online. In Canada I would really like the remote started feature. Without that it's useless. Without bluelink can you still send the map from your phone to the car?

Thanks for checking on that. I just called a different dealership in NB and that parts guy was able to find the part (I think there's only one "1" in the part number--also too fast to copy...) and he's ordering it for me. I don't know what the problem was at the first dealer but I'll drive a little further to get it at this one.

For anyone wondering what we're talking about, check the Hyundai Canada website for accessories at any dealer and it's the "Concealed Storage Trunk Tray" listed for $28.94 CDN.

Thanks again...

I just picked this storage tray up at a Canadian Hyundai dealer. It is part #B1H12 AP000, Tray Assy - Luggage. It cost 33.84 CDN with tax which is about $25.92 US today.

I already had things stuffed around the spare tire and this tray fit over those things. The compartments in the tray itself aren't very deep but it does hide the stuff I already had around the tire and provides additional storage in the tray. The tray also includes a strap and hook to hang the tray open like the regular spare tire cover does.
