Rust Cure 3000 at Canadian Tire in Canada is good.
I am having second thoughts. Where I live, we have couple of real good car wash systems that do a amazing underbody clean and rust inhibitor Application. Been running since 1990 or so. And improved from time to time.. None of my cars have had rustproofing, and show no rust. This includes some older cars from 90s and early 2000s. IF you have something like this as part of a good wash system, rust proofing may not be needed.. On the HD trucks, I use good systems for rust proofing... Never failed me.
I keep hearing comments about the plastic panels under the car.. And I have looked at them carefully while on the rack. The commercial high pressure under body wash I mention above seems to get most of the crap that gets in behind these panels. They panels are NOT waterproof, or designed to protect from road corrosion. I take issue with the previous comments. And these panels seem to trap in salt and corrosive grime on exposed, and not well rust proof treated, metal body components.
When one drives in winter, on highways and roads, water and corrosive material has a way of penetration in all kinds of places. And those places are hard to clean and the corrosion will begin. The no. Waterproof panels may reduce the effectiveness of underbody cleaning. Those systems will hit the car for less than a minute, verses long periods of times where the wheels what not, churns up corrosive brew that gets past the panels while driving. The underbody cleaning may not work well enough. And if someone does not do this, regular rain water in the road my not sweep away winter rap.
Point is.. Been thinking of going back to rust proofing to protect the because the panels actually help hold in corrosive water and agents. Jury is still out. Something to consider, especially if keeping the car past the corrosion warranty limits. Plus, no one really wants to have warranty corrosion body work done anyway.. That is like fixing a wrecked car. Once repaired, no longer virgin.
The system mentioned above and others will actually take used cars corrosion that has started, and stop it. So, is effective in great condition used cars..
Anyway, something to consider. I am still wrestling through this. Too bad, do not live in AZ..l not a problem to worry about.
