  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Forum Support

It's Verizon, I use my S5 as a hotspot and everything was OK til a few days ago.

Somebody sent me an email two days ago with the same complaint so I'll ask what ISP they're using as well and see if that has anything to do with it.

I don't think it's related to ISP....I'm home now, using my home wireless network (Comcast - 50Mbps) and all pages are still loading very slow, BUT ..... If I log out, then forum and all pages load super fast.

The problem started after you were messing with the ads. At least in my case.

I have had zero issues since I became a supporting member. I have AT&T DSL and soon to be switching to AT&T U-Verse do to the increase electronic devices in the home using Wireless.

Another thing I have noticed today: when I click one of those places; upper header or Hyundai Genesis Forum link, it says I don't have permission to access this page....I am logged in though.

EDIT

....and another thing, just now after I posted first picture:

It doesn't say what type of car I'm driving, it just says "Drives a Hyundai"? this is really weird.

Well, I fixed one thing - because the same exact thing just happened to me. I got the same permissions error when I clicked the logo at the top left. I refreshed the database and that stopped happening. So I'm pretty sure you're okay there. However, I have no idea what's going on with the other thing. It looks like your model type somehow got deleted. Can you try re-entering that and let me know if it sticks?

I guess it's working now. It was set to "Genesis/Equus In His/Her Dreams (Doesn't own one yet)" in my details, but I didn't touch that since first day.

Forum still loads very slow, lots of blank pages....it only happens when I am logged on. If I log out, everything is back to normal.

just got a full page pop-up to get an amazon gift card for signing up for your newsletter. It was obviously bogus lol. Just wanted to let you know

Alright...I created a new account a few days ago to see if it helps with anything related to loading forum pages....it did and worked for 2 days ONLY! now it slows again! I tried from other computers in my house (4 different laptops)
I wonder, what is going on? does any one of you have this problem using PC/laptop?
This is the only website/forum I'm having this problem with.

All my computers are "clean", no malware, etc.

ps. It's me - Dareck (aka dareckibmw) :D

Sorry, I've been busy with work the past week so I haven't been here as much as I need to be. Creating a new account was going to be my next suggestion to see what's going on but if that only worked for two days - I can't imagine what to do next. It has to be something ISP related. I really don't know for sure. I'm still waiting on a return email from the person who told me about having the same problem a couple of weeks ago. I'm really not sure how to proceed here.

Well, forum pages load ~30% of the time without refreshing the tab, and the api.viglink warning is back. Something has changed...

I have had zero issues since becoming a supporting member. For $4 bucks per month it is worth every penny. No more ads plus the value of information you get from this site more than pays for one less large fry and a hot apple pie from McDonalds once a month. LOL

As a supporting member for 4 years now I can say I’ve had zero issues…..hmmm wonder why that is.

Correlation =/= causation.
Interestingly enough, with the new/renewed adware filter tripping, slowed page load times, and other forum "perks", my car make disappeared, too.

These are neat "features".

I think the missing car make information is a database "hiccup" or something database related. Otherwise, there's nothing "dangerous" about VigLink...

Riiight. Just some innocuous background content.

This forum is so messed up, it gets worse and worse....

- Trying to surf this forum or get to this section, I'm being redirected to index page several time?!
- forum loads up even slower than before.
- blank pages.
- it doesn't matter if I turn my ublock/adblock OFF - it still doesn't help!

but guess what! ..... if I log out, everything runs fast as hell! why is that? I don't think my ISP (Verizon) has anything to do with it.

btw. Blocking access to Forum like this? I don't think this will help you to get new users or more support from them. I could be wrong, of course ;)

As I said above: turning ad-blocker OFF does not solve this problem.

EDIT: I hit "Preview Post" button and it redirected me to index page again!!!

Must be your computer or browser. I whitelisted this site and things run fine for me - I can handle the ads. If it did not, I would pay the fee.
