Key Fob Battery Replacement

I tried a search on this forum for "key fob" and "Key fob battery" and got no results; so I am posing the question below.

In my manual it says to pry open the key fob to replace the 2032 battery; it shows the key fob separated. However; the manual is silent on how to pry open the key fob.

Has anyone pried open a 2015 Key Fob and can you tell us how you did it?

I believe the accepted method is to pull the metal key out part way and then twist it -- this opens the clam shell. Do a search on YouTube if you want to see a video. Manuals are always silent on anything important.

pulling key out part way and twisting didn't work. You Tube video does work.

I guess a 2015 FOB is not supposed to have a bad battery??

Batteries on the 1G keyfob last at least 3 years, and usually more. I replace my batteries about once every three years as a precaution, and have 2 spare batteries in my glove box.

one of my fobs seems to be acting up.. When i approach the car the mirrors dont open and if i stand by the trunk its doesn't open either... i'm thinking battery...
