  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Will update with pictures after installation is complete, hope it's worth the 650+ dollars

Lol, should have gone v1. Both my radar detector and my jammers are hard wired.

It's a good detector, enjoy it.

I will eventually I'm broke at the moment the tint and radar detector going to brake the bank. I have seen your jammers I have to look into the price of those beauties

No way I would go with a V1 over the 360. I wouldn't even switch to it from my Max. Not to say that the V1 is bad but I don't want to jump back 5 years in technology.

Here's a couple things to grab for your Max that work PERFECTLY with the 360 as well!!!

V1 is older in design but if you use the V1 app (free) it becomes a more powerful device then the max 360 (if you plan on drag racing down the interstate). the 360 will not sound like a box of crickets and I can update it by plugging into a computer so i choose it. As for hardwiring I'll get it professionally installed since I am not sure how it is done or the difficulty.

The install with the parts listed takes about 20 minutes and it extremely simple. I can remove mine and take a few pics to show you where it plugs in.

Also, just for reference in testing the the V1 and the Passport Max Gen 1, the Max had less falses and more accurate prediction over a 2 week period of driving a 70 mile trip twice a day. The GPS marking alone to weed out the junk made me stick with the Max over the V1. Again, not saying it is bad by any means but in a side by side test for me, I got much better results with the Max. I should have my 360 in a couple weeks as well. All of the Max line is able to be upgraded via USB. As a dealer at the time, I would sell the Max over a V1 everytime.

The V1's more sensitive but with proper programming can be made just as useful. Also I believe in various tests it did a better job at picking up both radar and laser sooner than the Max. don't let the exterior fool you, its not as if nothing has changed over that time. I don't speed in my daily driving but during road rallies and over long distances I have found the v1 to be very reliable at detecting laser and radar before other detectors, including the passport offerings. my co-driver prefers the max and we typically run them side by side. does it show less false positives? yes. however I am quite okay with the occasional false alert during these events given the more increase in notification time.

both are great detectors and I can see why you chose the max for daily driving, but the V1 is not old or outdated by any means.

Definitely agree there, when running both side by side, I just grew to like the Max better. Can't wait to get the 360 though!

I believe escort Web site offers 150 for trade in max's. Radar roy also gives 10 percent discount so it's around 580 no tax and also has a radar trade in program

What I seen is that its pretty much the max2 with arrows

The 360 has true front and rear antenna where as the Max 2 just basically added in Bluetooth.

I actually get dealer pricing on the Escort stuff so just waiting on them to be in stock.

How do you guys deal with having that huge box strapped to your rear view mirror? Do you take it off every time you park to avoid theft? Does it make an officer scowl when he sees it?

I have a SRX system I've hung onto for years and it's never let me down. I've been meaning to upgrade, but the only reason to do so is to get GPS lockouts. Escort doesn't seem to be making any more stealth packages. But I love that I can be completely stealth. The 360 definitely interests me, especially the phone app, but I think I would feel like I'm back in 1993 if I had one hanging off my rear view.

It's big but not that huge. I don't have mine hardwired yet so I just take it off and on. When it comes to pigs they can kiss my ass since it's legal.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago. I have it mounted on the right side of the mirror using the sticky cup and wired using the mirror power cord. I haven't had it long, but here are my impressions so far:
  • It's big, but if mounted on the side of the mirror it disappears until I look at it.
  • I upgraded from a Solo S3 (battery-powered), and this is much more sensitive. It provides more than enough warning for the way I drive (fast, but not reckless). It also has good ramp-up rate.
  • The filtering is also very good. I haven't noticed any false Ka, and I believe that was fixed with the most recent firmware (v1.8 IIRC, released in January). It also seems to filter out radar-based BSM/adaptive cruise much better than my Solo S3.
  • The arrows are very slow to switch. I pass the same speed sign every day on the way to work, and it takes several seconds after I pass it to switch from front to rear.
  • The Escort Live app is decent, although I haven't used it much because I don't bring my phone to work. It seems to have more alerts in my area than Waze does. I like that it automatically reports Ka, so I don't have to interact with the phone while driving to report a speed trap. The only thing I don't like about it is that the map auto zooms to a ridiculous level and can only be set to North up.
Overall, I'm happy with it. I consider the V1 more of a competitor to the Redline; I think both of those products are targeted at a different market than the Max 360.

I have mine set to Expert FR meter mode and Standard+ tones. I just wish I could set the screen to be completely dark until I get a hit (I don't need the mode or speed limit display).
