  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So - my lease is up shortly and I want to"de-program" my Genesis 3.8 garage door opener and the push button that I use for my community gate. Would appreciate any help.

Pretty sure you hold down the two outside buttons until the indicator light flashes rapidly. May take ten seconds or so of holding them down. The light will be solid at first, when it flashes the memory is cleared.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Not sure if it's the same for all model years, but the '11 manual reads:

Erasing HomeLink buttons
Individual buttons cannot be erased.
However, to erase all three programmed
buttons:
1. Press and hold the two outer
HomeLink buttons until the indicator
light begins to flash-after 20 seconds.
2. Release both buttons. Do not hold for
longer than 30 seconds.
The Integrated HomeLink Wireless
Control System is now in the training
(learn) mode and can be programmed at
any time following the appropriate steps
in the Programming sections above

This is why I never programmed mine. Most people would forget to reset it.

Were you ever use Chamberlain Wd850kevg? It is quite advanced than other garage door openers.

Yeah forgetting to reset the homelink AND forgetting to clear the navi stored "home" location would be bad.

Of course you could always change the code on the garage opener itself if you forget to delete it on the car. Problem solved.
