I took genny in for maintenance and had them check wind noise level. Dealer ordered a drivers front door seal, original was deformed. Part was on back order but is now in and going on next week, stay tuned to see if this gets genny back to tomb like silence.

My car has the same wind noise. Dealer also ordered the same driver side seal. I have yet to get installed. Please keep us posted on install and update to noise issue.

Good luck and I hope the fix works.

I suspected others might have a similar issue, several have mentioned taped off doors that indicated wind noise entry. Early on I had no wind noise and the door was much more difficult to close on the first try. Fingers crossed, I take it her in on Tuesday, will report back.

Wow, glad I stumbled across this post. I've had my Genny for about 3 weeks now, and recently I have noticed wind noise coming from my driver's door. I thought that the door might actually not be closed completely. After pulling over, opening and closing the door, and resuming the trip, I noticed the noise continued.

After already putting 2200 miles on the car, and another 2500-3000 more miles coming up this month, I will be bringing this issue to my nearest Hyundai service department as soon as I can.

I will try to follow up with my experience.

Thanks!!

Hi! Is it a warranty replacement? I guess it should be..

I have exact same issue. please follow up after they replace it.

Thank you!

Specifically which door seal? There are several.
One on the door that is somewhat thick, and should compress against the door jamb, others that are smaller and stiffer out to the edges of the door, etc..

The road noise I hear appears to come from the where the drivers window meets the door.

I dunno which seals, it said seal assembly so hopefully all of them. It is being covered under warranty. Will try to get more deets.

Same here....lots of wind noise from drivers door. Dealer said its normal...

Went in today and dropped off the Genny, drove off in a new Sante fe. About an hour later I picked up the car. The seal on the drivers door was replaced, the one that is attached to and snakes around the entire door.

BIG improvement, noise is way down and cabin feels very isolated again.

When I pulled in to my garage and exited the door did not close on the first try, it took me three tries! Just like when it was brand new, nice and sealed up. Now how to add the soft close doors...

Wow! Thanks for the following up! happy to hear it became silent again!
I should ask to my dealer to replace it!

Could you post a pic? My car is going in for this exact issue on Friday. I'd like to verify the part to show the service adviser.

I've been having the same problem. I have a 5.0 and when drive at speeds of more than 30mph I've been hearing a slight wind noise coming into the car. Going to take it to the dealership tomorrow to see what they say. Is the door seal replacement covered under warranty? Thanks

Any further updates on this? I am having same issues. Please advise. Thanks
Went to the dealership and they adjusted the door. The problem was fixed for the first couple of days but the noise started again. I'm gonna have to take it back in.

I had the wind noise issue. The dealer replaced the door seal package... I'm pretty sure that it was more than one seal. They also adjusted the door to be tighter too. That fixed the issue.

When I originally took the car in during my first oil change, it came back with the typical "no problem found". I ended up going out on the road with a tech, and let him drive. I had to point out that the right side was dead quiet, and the drivers side had a distinct but subtle "air" noise.

The key to getting him to understand the issue was pointing out when you could hear the "air". Remember that in any car, it's normal to hear some muffled sounds from the outside, particularly from the driver's side when you are sitting there. There is a distinct difference when there is an incomplete seal. That sound takes on a different character than the normal muffled sounds you can hear.

In my case, I think the fact that the car is generally so quiet is what allows you to actually hear the sound of a poor door seal. In many cars, you probably would not even notice it.

If you are having this problem, make the tech go on the ride with you. It may also help to relate the stories here of folks who had the problem solved with a seal package and proper door adjustment.

Working with dealers and helping them to solve problems is key to getting issues resolved. You must help them understand and duplicate a problem.

How much do you charge an hour? More than the dealer?

I'm kidding, but really the dealers should be all over forums like this figuring this stuff out, so the customers don't have to ... If we can find this information, so should they.

Same issue with the sales people - there should never be a situation where I know more about our car than you do if you sell this every day. And that goes for pretty much every car dealer - my friends ask me to go car shopping with them because I usually know more about the cars than the sales people do. So far that's been true everywhere but at the Porsche dealership. They just have too many tiny variations on all the damn models, and they make no sense to me (you have to get a Ph.D. in Porsche model names and numbers, and options - and I just don't care enough about them to know the details).

I totally agree about dealer sales knowledge. I think most sales people are lazy and just don't care to learn all about the cars they are trying to sell. I know this may not be true for all of them but I have yet to find a salesman that knows more than me about a car I am interested in buying if I have done any research at all. I have often thought that I would make a great car salesman but really don't want that kind of job. But if I did sell cars I would only want to work for a car company that I felt made good cars for people to buy.
