  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So i finally tried the Pandora app yesterday... Only problem is i could not get it to work on my phone.. Do i need to be connected to Wifi? How are you guys able to listen to this in the car? I had the phone plugged in to the USB stock port and not the aftermarket one i just bought..

Do you mean by using the Pandora app that you can download from the car? I thought Hyundai announced a month or two ago that they were going to discontinue the apps that were previously available?

Or, do you mean that you downloaded the Pandora app onto your phone and you can't get it to play over your speakers from there? If that option, did you try bluetooth? I use Spotify which is obviously similar to Pandora and have never had any issues playing music from there via bluetooth.

I use IHeart Radio via Bluetooth and it works flawlessly.

Here's how this works on my Android (Kitkat 5.1.1) phone:

  1. Connect phone to car via Bluetooth (USB connection is not required)
  2. Start Pandora on my Phone
  3. Go to the the "Media" menu in the Genesis and start the Pandora (Bluetooth) app ...

The car then uses my phone's data plan to download music to Pandora. The car allows full control of my Pandora stations, skip, thumbs up/down, shows covers and titles etc. I'm pretty impressed with that integration actually.

You need to download Pandora to your phone from the AppStore, then start and log into your Pandora account on the phone - at least that's how it works on my Android. I can try with my girlfriends iPhone this weekend, I think she has a Pandora account as well ...

I just tried the app and it keeps saying network unavailable . . I tried Bluetooth and plugging in the phone . does the phone need to be connected via wifi? it worked in the house last night but I was connected to wifi. very frustrating. is Spotify better?

Check your Pandora settings on the iphone. In settings, go to Pandora, and turn Cellular Data ON. That should fix the issue.

You're the man. The Android version doesn't seem to offer that option ... at least nowhere obvious to me. Learned something new today!

The purpose of that setting on the iphone, is to allow you to limit apps to wi-fi only so you can avoid data charges.
