Just wanted to get the thoughts of others to determine if I am dealing with a shady dealer or just being paranoid.
I am going to purchase a new 2016 Genesis in another state. After finally agreeing on a price and having the salesman draw up the purchase order I asked him to send it and sign it so that I can then sign it and forward it on to my bank in order to get the funds/check released.
So far the dealer has been very cagey and has been trying to get me to work with the bank to get the funds released prior to sending the paperwork (i.e. signed PA, odometer statement, title docs, etc). I have been steadfast in wanting the dealer to sign or initial the paperwork (i.e standing behind the deal) given the large rebate involved.
There are a few more details to the story but suffice it to say things have had a different tone since I refused their financing and went with my own. Is this dealer being shady or am I being paranoid. When buying remote who typically signs first the dealer or the buyer?
